I think Australia edged quite a few more than England did.

Never was a huge cricket fan but the Ashes and the West Indians in the 70´s was/is always a treat - don´t write the Okkas off yet if we can bowl them out for 60 I´m sure they can do the same.

2 down for 40 odd, back to a bit of reality.....

Am I the only one who thinks that "Umpires call" on hawkeye is a bit odd in that if the umpire thinks its out it can be upheld when less of the ball is hitting the stumps than if the umpire thinks its not out and more of the ball is hitting the stumps....?

Root and Bairstow putting Oz to the sword. Records tumbling through the day as well, Root is the first batsman to hit 100 in the second innings of an Ashes 1st day. He must now be challenging AB de Villiers for the World No.1 spot, should add some spice to the South Africa series...

This could well go down as one of the finest days England has had in an Ashes series, running Melbourne (?) very close when Aus were bowled out for 100 odd and Strauss and Cook ended the day unbeaten with a healthy lead.....

Keep the foot on the throat......

It's on days like this that you cast your mind back to how the likes of the Waugh brothers, Border, Pointing et al used to blast a tiring England bowling attack to all parts of the ground....... well this is pay back lads:emoticon-0148-yes:

Joe Root was born in 1990. Goodness. I'm getting to the age when I'm slowly giving up hope of signing any sort of proffesional sports contract.
