Rio Ferdinand: QPR will struggle to bounce straight back following relegation please log in to view this image Leaving: Ferdinand expects Austin and Fer to leave Rio Ferdinand doubts whether QPR can bounce back from relegation at the first attempt. Rangers are looking to make an immediate return to the Premier League but Ferdinand does not expect his former club to challenge for promotion this season. “The best they can hope for is to consolidate in the Championship and then push the season after,” he said. “It will be a hard season for them. “They are going to lose Charlie Austin and Leroy Fer and they have already lost Steven Caulker. So there is a lot to do for them.” QPR start with a trip to Charlton on Saturday, where manager Chris Ramsey hopes to have Austin and Fer available despite admitting the pair are likely to leave before the transfer window closes. Ferdinand believes Ramsey is the right man to oversee the rebuilding job at Loftus Road. Speaking at BT Sport’s Premier League launch, Ferdinand said: “He did a great job at Spurs and he has got the credentials to bring through young talent.”
Thanks for all the help in keeping us in the Prem Rio! now go concentrate on your family and media career
Every time I've opened the sports pages for the last few years, that asshole has been plastered all over them with his incessant twittering. It was the same today. A double page spread all about how he was "advising" an Everton youngster that he would be a "lunatic" to sign for Chelsea so he should leave Everton and sign for United instead. For someone who used his last season using us as a promotional vehicle for his various interests, to be now gurning on about our travails in the football league, its another kick up the arse from one of our former "experienced pros". Do us a favour Rio and shut your pie hole
He's bang on IMO But let's be honest what value do pundits bring to football It's as bad as corporate fluff
He may well be 'bang on' but anyone can fill a column with ' no shyt Sherlock' comments. Never liked him nor rated him as a footballer (sorry Col), Maldini or Baresi now they were centre backs!
