Does anyone keep an eye on little brother? About AFC Liverpool AFC Liverpool is a new independent football club owned by Liverpool fans and run by Liverpool fans where everyone can buy into it and get an equal vote. A genuine grassroots, not for profit football club. It is aimed especially at those Liverpool fans priced out of Premier League football. Same colours, same songs, same community of Reds. We play in the Vodkat League Division One (sometimes known as the North West Counties). Is It Against Liverpool FC? No. Quite the opposite. It draws itââ¬â¢s support base from Liverpool fans. AFC Liverpool fans still support Liverpool and those who can afford to will still go to Anfield to support the Reds. The club is meant as a grassroots addition to Liverpool FC, not to be a replacement for it. We see ourselves very much as part of the LFC family ââ¬â LFCââ¬â¢s little brother. Why Bother? Because thousands of Reds canââ¬â¢t get to games anymore, either because it is difficult to get tickets or because they canââ¬â¢t afford them. The average age of a Premiership fan is 43, so we need a way to get kids hooked into experiencing football at an actual match, surrounded by a passionate LFC community.
Isn't there one or two ex Liverpool academy players playing for AFC Liverpool.Correct me if I'm wrong. FC United of Manchester were set up in protest to the Glazers. But this isn't the case with AFC Liverpool.
You're right. FCUM were set up as a protest of the Glazier ownership AFC Wimbledon were set up as a protest after Wimbledon moved to Milton Keynes AFC Liverpool is an amatuer team set up on the same principles as Liverpool Football club and their aim is to work alongside Liverpool FC (would be great if they could become a feeder club for the main team)
Feeder club.? Bozz. How about in reverse. There might be one or maybe more lads in Liverpools academy that may(I'm not saying this will happen) have a bad injury and m ay not be able to play professionally and they could go and play for ''The Little Brother''.Jiust a thought.
It's sounds like an excellent idea. Many people are being priced out of Premier League football and having a 'Little Liverpool' which fans can afford to go to is a cracking idea.
thats what I meant... Liverpool Football club could loan youngsters/Players lacking match fitness to AFC Liverpool
Bozz. Excellent idea.Or how about some of the ones that are going to be released, and with a first refusal buy-back if they come good, this way,AFC Liverpool make a few quid for their development, the players get their first team football and Liverpool get a few players that have an affection for the club later on.
In America they would be called SCUM since they don't know the meaning of the word football. Just saying.
That was aimed at you, not @Red Hadron Collider. He's at a meeting in Manchester, so I already assume he's bored.
If you managed to avoid having a boring meeting, then good for you I can be nice as well as annoying (sometimes both at the same time).
