I would say the following: Fabianski in goal. Naughton, Williams & Fernandez at the back. Cork as the out-and-out defensive midfielder. Gomis up top. That leaves Taylor v. Tabanou at left back. That's going to be an interesting competition this season. Then any 4 from: Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Routledge, Dyer, Montero, Emnes, Eder. Some difficult selection choices ahead for Mr. Monk if the the squad is fit...
The team will be as follows Fabianski Naughton. Williams. Fernandez. Taylor Cork. Ki. Shelley. Aywe. Gomis. Siggy.
So you think Sigurdsson will play on the wing? We've got too many good players now. Need to offload some
Fabianski' Naughton, Fernandez, Williams Ki, Cork Ayew, Routledge Gomis Above nailed on Personally would like Tabanou to start and i think Shelvey. Siggy is wasted on the wing especially when we have four specialists for that position. Deciding the subs will be even harder.
I could pick 3 different teams and they're all strong sides. Fantastic headache for Monk to pick the players with the squad we've now built.
No I would play Siggy in his usual role with Ayew out wider, he's comfortable there and he can be effective.
The team will be as follows: --------------Fabianski------------ Naughton--Fernandez--Williams--Taylor -------Cork----Siggy----Shelvey------- ------Aywe-------------------Monty -----------------Gomis------------- Subs: Ki, Dyer, Tab, Routledge, Britton, Emnes, Eder, Rangel....................
The players I reckon that are nailed on are as follows:- Fabianski Naught on, fernandez, Ash, tbc Ki, Cork, Shelvey, siggu, Gomis So we have 2 players I think for the starting 11 between Taylor and tabanou, routledge tried and tested in this formation or Ayew I reckon montero will be an impact player on Saturday purely down to who we are playing along with dyer also. I reckon monk will pack the middle with gomis as a lone target man until around 50 min and if we are still competitive then he will become more expansive.
--------------Fabianski---------- Naughton------Ash---------Fed----------Neil (Tabanou needs to earn the spot) Jonjo---------Ki-----------Cork---------Routs -----------------Gylfi-------------- -------------------------Gomis---------------------- This for me, is our strongest 'defensive unit'. We all remember last season what happened when we tried to go toe to toe with Chelsea and this system has got us huge points in the past.
Really tough to choose. --------------Fabianski------------ Naughton-Fernandez-Williams-Taylor ---------Cork----------Ki--------------- ---------------Shelvey----------- Between cards will dominate our midfield this year Routledge------------------Ayew ---------------Gomis---------- Taylor Vs Tabernou = Totally dependent on game plan and tactics. Tabernou - wing back, Taylor - full-back Gave Taylor the nod as its his shirt and its up to Tab to take it from him. Competition should rev them up nicely. Subs: Siggy (no good on wing), Monty (impact weapon), Tabernou, Emnes (or Dyer), Eder, Bartley, Nordfeldt Blimey, leaves out Britton, Amat, Dyer, Rangel, Grimes, Barrow Fulton entirely. Its too hard. Thank Jebus I'm not a manager
Fab Naughton, FF, Ash, Tabanou Cork Ki, Shelvey Sig Gomis, Ayew Bench: Norfeldt, Tayler, Bartley, Britton, Routledge, Montero, Eder. Sub: Tayler, Routs & Eder for Sig, Gomis & Ayew. 3-1 win for Swansea. The toughest thing is deciding if i would drop Britton and Routledge for Fulton and Grimes.
This is very true, and due to Monk not wanting to upet any of his main players, I left the backup keeper out because 9 was way over the top!.............
We will need to park the Bus a bit against chelsea i reckon so i cant see us using 2 strikers for that game and we will need our most experienced defensive team to take them on.......At home we can play 2 up front but not against the big teams away......Monk has a really tough decision to make and im sure he will have a strong bench to make changes should we be struggling.......I'm finding this season the most interesting season to date with the number of options we have in the squad.....this season will make or break monk as what type of manager he is.....
As we can all see Monk will have a few players wanting to play tennis!........... Glad I'm not manager, though judging by the squad we will be looking at a good cup run and Europe too.......
