Massimo Luongo? Ben Gladwin? Jay Emmanuel-Thomas? Jamie Mackie? Sebastian Polter? Tyler Blackwood? Tjaronn Chery? James Perch? Possibly more to come, but personally think Chery will be the one stand out in that bunch with Ben Gladwin to contribute more than i'm expecting.
I agree with you on Gladwin. I think he could be a real find. Also, keeping either Austin, Fer or Phillips would top the list above.
Think they all have their merits.....Chery was unexpected and an exciting prospect, the 2 lads from Swindon could become the real deal, Perch is a good signing with bags of experience as does Mackie. All in all this has been a decent pre-season with players in the right age bracket and price..... Roll on Saturday.....
I'll delay my reaction untill I see them first, haven't bothered with any pre season games as waste of time & anyway still on hols in Rhodes but back for first home match & can't wait.
I agree with Tramore. But it will be good to return to this thread in a couple of months. Hopefully we will then be much wiser.
Isn't stating that Ben Gladwin will contribute more than you are expecting a sign that you actually are already expecting him to contribute significantly?! Pedantry aside, I think Luongo will be the best of the bunch, but suspect that Perch, Gladwin and Luongo are all going to prove to be good signings. I think JET could go either way, as could Chery, and that Mackie will split opinion. No clue on Polter or Blackwood.
My heart is telling me that Ale Faurlin signing a year's contract may be the best signing we have made. Having not seen any pre-season I can't comment on any of our purchases but I'm looking forward to seeing some of them at Charlton.
Just glad to see we have some players desperate to prove themselves instead of old, final salary farts
