Not meant to be too morbid but with Val Doonican and our Cilla just recently passing away, lads at work were talking about who has passed over and who is going to be the next celebrity to pop their clogs.

Looking thru a list of who is alive and who is dead I was amazed at how many have already gone.

I am going to go with little Tommy Steel just coz he must be well cracking on in years.

Who do you reckon could follow our Cilla?

Sorry mate but this is a ****ing dreadful idea for a thread.

They're not just celebrities. They're people, with families and friends and speculating on their death is just a bit disgusting.

I know they are real people and apologise if it causes hurt to anyone as that was not my intention.
I didn't realise it would upset anyone, if I did I wouldn't have posted it.
If its that bad then get a mod to wipe it off.

If people want to go along with it fair enough, that's their right. No need to wipe it. I just wanted to say I didn't think it was a good idea. I'm not offended in the slightest I just think it's a bit weird.

It's a bit morbid though, let's predict who's gonna die next.

**** sake, you've only got a week to wait until the footy starts!

People have had 'sweeps' for this type of thing for many years, and I've always thought of it as being a bit morbid,
but some consider it to be dead popular, parrentlies :emoticon-0112-wonde

Depends how the thread goes. If it can remain informative rather than descending into chaos it should be ok.

On Topic. Got a feeling this could be the year we lose one of the biggest legends of all time. Muhammad Ali has been really struggling this year with his health and he's been battling Parkinsons for a long time now. Think it could be the year we suffer a big loss. :(

That has to be the most respectable, beautiful and least morbid way anybody could have put their pick across, well done!

We used to run a stiff stakes at the factory.
Think of a list of famous folk who might be on the edge & draw them out of a bag.
Chip a quid a week in & whosever croaks first gets the dosh.
What the ****'s wrong with that?

I can understand why he feels the way he does about this, because it could well descend into 'bad taste' if posts dictate so :emoticon-0112-wonde . . . . hopefully not, though :emoticon-0148-yes:

p.s. did you understand what I mean't in my last post ?

    p.p.s. <sorry> about that :emoticon-0111-blush

In my youth my friends and I did one of these a canny few years back. We all picked the ususal, Bob Hope, the Pope, etc. One chose George Bush Jr. We took the piss out of him as we reminded him that he was probably the safest most protected man in the world. A few days later he choked on a pretzel, fell and cracked his head on a table! So close! I'm too sentimental and superstitious in my older years to do one of these now though. I'd be worried I'd be struck by lightening or something!

Specifically said I wasn't offended as I wasn't. I'll repeat it though. I'm not offended.

I just think speculating on people's deaths is a bit weird. Shall we start speculating on which of our posters dies first? Which of a certain posters kids die first?

    Weird game.

Look at all the **** thread Comm makes that he has to live with, you're sticking this one out sunshine!

For the record, my guess would be Bobby Brown, watching your wife and your daughter both overdose... **** that, I'd be reaching for the rope.

Me and my mates had a dead pool years ago, pick 10 celebs that might croak it soon, but you could only have 2 over 60, my brother won with redrum, we didn't factor animals into the rules.

Tommy Steele is only 78 btw.

Sir Sean Connery for an older choice
Russel Brand as an outside younger choice.

But any singer/musician that is 26/27 has a chance to peg it soon.
