Mata, fair price. It's not all about pace (maybe this is Liverpools problem?).
Felli, fair enough though he was a big part in getting back into top4.
Shaw, people said the same about Rio, look how that turned out.
Di Maria, will lose about the same as you lot with Balo.
    Rojo, fair fee, good player.
Schweisteiger, Jury is out, as you say depends on his legs.

So, spread out over 6 years this would look pretty much like the normal spending of any top team. Doesn't matter anyway, we can afford it :p

He threw the title in 13/14 to prove a point, hence the "little horse" comment.

Preparing for the day that he succeeds van Gaal?

We know he won't last this season and next at Chelsea. .....

<laugh> I wouldnt want him any more than you would.

Agree, when your relationship with the owner is such that you have to wangle money out of him it's never going to last. There'll be no love lost between either when he goes.

Their spending has been fairly gross without question.

United could potentially have Pedro, Depay and Rooney in a 3 man attack - which could arguably the best in the league.

Schneiderlin is a massive signing IMO and gives them exactly what they were lacking in mid. Schweinsteiger and Carrick will rotate most likely.

GK and defence are still a concern though.

I think utds first 11 will be very good which is why I'm undecided which of arsenal and Utd will push chelsea closest

He'll both could be above chelsea at the end.....

However while Utd fixed the long standing cm issues somewhat (none are scholes) Utd need to fix the cbs which now have arisen more and more. That added to a lack of cover for rooney given a cl campaign as well means Utd still have a bit of work to do.

De gea is a big issue too... was preseason game an abbhoration?

In the end Pedro isn't really what Utd need they look to be relying on Wilson as cover.... he's not bad at all.

All in all I think sweinsteiger could be the key man

    No way Jimmy.

Sorry but costa and hazard and William blow that away.

    Why?

Depay is young and has to settle. .. a little time there. Pedro I think is being made out to be a worldie... I'm not sure he's another sanchez personally

Arsenal for me with carzorla sanchez and ozil (with Walcott and ox as well) behind giroud is very very very good.

Then aguero silva and coughs sterling should be good if 4th best this year.

I think to rate utds that high is a mistake... but it will be good. Depay needs a bit of time and I'd not be shocked his he had ups and downs as tiredness comes in.

Depay is a special talent and I think he'll take to the league well.

Pedro is top class. He may not be world class but he's certainly one of the top players in the world - won't get the recognition because he was overshadowed by Messi and co.

That front 3 can be dangerous - full of pace, trickery, movement and all 3 can score goals.

Van Gaal has already thrown his toys about of the pram over De Gea's performance and demanded the owners sell him

He's still a very good player who get into most teams - but I wouldn't class him as world class. But he's very close.

Rooney? Pace and trickery? Have a word with yourself.

Anyway the same could have been said of a front 3 of Rooney, Falcao and Di Maria. Except they also have experience of winning everything at the top level.

Then Van Gaal got his hands on them...

    Just because he's world class doesn't mean he's #worldclass

Poor old Young.. Pedro comes in, that signals the end of the lad..
Think Pedro could do well.. Team will certainly be good going forward, but defence without DdG will be weaker.. No? He saved their bacon a fair few times last season!

Agreed - if he goes, then GK and defence are still big weak points.
