If your mate is called Edward Fernlish Hemsington Wittingsworth, you just call him Ted. You don't march him down the Town Hall and have him change his name to Ted, you just call him Ted. If Allam had marketed the word 'Hull' or 'Tigers' and just left the name alone, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Again.
Allam also insisted he is popular with Hull City fans despite protests against his proposed name change. "Overwhelmingly, they are positive about what I am trying to do," Allam said. Completely delusional
He may have been misquoted and a couple of words missed out? Perhaps he said "Overwhelmingly, they are positively pissed off about what I am trying to do," ?
Regardless of the name change, the FA are an outdated organisation that have failed to move with the times and hence they have **** all say in the key footballing decisions. They have allowed the FA cup to degenerate into a competition that even now Championship clubs put out their second 11 unless they have made it into the quarter final stage. They make ridiculous appointments like Woy and fail to sack him despite the fact that the team are embarrassingly knocked out before we even reach the final match of the group stages. They then put a "task force" together to improve the prospects of the National team, but then realise their recommendations have zero chance of being implemented due to the power of the Premier League body. They spend 6 months deliberating over what to do with Malky Mackay and then do **** all. And it looks like they they'll spend another 6 months working out what to do with Jake Livermore. But yes, let's give them a clap for making a decision about one of the few things that are left in their control, and then voting to leave everything just the way it is. Rant over.
I'm watching the "FA Community Shield with McDonalds" apparently. When did they vote on that name change then?
Idi Amin you seem to be under the illusion that the mainstream media is there to represent some sort of fundamentally honest viewpoint. It exists to make money for its' owners, don't expect 'honesty'.
If Smartarse were so smart, why would he feel the need to put posters like me on his ignore list? I hope you'd all agree I'm no wum, and unlike a few, I don't especially go out of my way to insult people on here. So maybe he just got sick of me(and others, check his sig) making his arguments look dumb and with such ease? For the record, I don't have anyone on 'ignore', to me that would make me feel weak and unable to handle being wrong about anything, which would make me feel sad about myself. Just saying...
Its probably the best thing he could have said it'll galvanise the FA against him !!!! Nice And all this from a labour party supporter who funded Mr Davis campaign !!!! Loopy aa they cone
Of all the stupid **** he's said over the last 2-3 years, this is the most embarrassing of the lot - the man is completely deranged. Remember around promotion time 2013 when the fans were questioning whether he was planning on changing the name? His response was something like 'No, of course not, Hull Tigers is just my pet-name for the club". He knew it wouldn't be popular even back then. The ****ing twat that he is!
I saw this interview before, funny how he goes on about the name mentioned in the interview when the issue is it's his bloody Hull Tigers made up bit that makes it too long! Proper bonkers he is!
His argument is ****ing hilarious. He says 'Hull City Tigers Association Football Club' is unmarketable but that's the name he's chosen to market the club as. Our official name is 'Hull City A.F.C.' and we're known to most simply as Hull City. Hull City is shorter than Hull Tigers. The ****'s going senile.
