This name stuff is bullshit. He wanted our stadium, since not getting it he has tried to make the best of the lot he gave himself. He won't let go because he doesn't seem to have the flexibility of mind to accept when he is wrong. Sad way for someone to live out their elderly years.

I can't wait for the day he eventually leaves. It will be a great one.

This could be the first shot by the owners of football clubs taking control of the FA away from the "amateurs". Greg Dyke and the owners supported the name change. The easiest way to get what you want is to remove the elements of democracy you don't like. If Greg Dyke wants to get rid of the blazers or reduce their influence this will be a long running saga.

I bet Manchester United Association Football Club are giving it some thought considering their lack of commercial success

He is the type of liar that convinces himself of the truth of his lies. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you won't be able to change his mind.

Should he want to re-apply for the change, he'll have to do it through the FA and he's just called them a bunch of amateurs in a national newspaper. Clever bloke is Assem Allam <doh>

    I think he's fundamentally wrong
The validity of the "short punchy name" argument depends entirely what you are trying to market
There isn't a market for football clubs which is changed by name, it is purely changed by success.
If he was right then we should have being doing much better at marketing ourselves around the world as Hull City than the clubs with stupidly longer names like Manchester United and Real Madrid
    It's nonsense
It's simply about petulantly trying to distance the club from the Council.

The whole name change thing isn't about changing the name. Asem Allam couldn't give a **** - and if he is honest would say he has never given a ****. It is about retaliating becaus ehe couldn't get our stadium for nothing.

Actually it is MUFC not MUAFC. Surprisingly few clubs are AFC. TWS are but have LUFC on their shirts not LUAFC. The A in AFC Bournemouth doesn't refer to Association but Athletic from when they were Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic Football Club.

I thought he was going away to reflect on the decision of the FA. Clearly he hasn't been swayed by their verdict and is of the same mindset as before the decision.

Why does no-one ever put this buffoon straight in these interviews, even the Sun Journo must know we are not Hull City Tigers A.F.C.
