But of info for anyone who might not know, if you buy a Now TV box (£20) which simply connects to your wi fi, you can get Sky Sports for £6.99 a day. Not bad if you're like me and go to the pub for televised Saints games. Instead of spending more than that on beer, you buy it for the day, wake up early and watch Soccer Am, then get the Saints game plus usually a couple other PL games. Also, you get two free day passes with the box.
Cedric the lion's brother Jericho who had taken over guarding Cedric's cubs has been shot by poachers.
Nice, didn't realise that was an option. How is your PS3 as a media player? I gave up on mine after All4 and 5OD refused to work. The Now TV box has all those on it anyway.
He'll probably see how long he can stay as the leader of the Liberal Democrats... and not jump on the track.
Lately I've been really into my time travel movies. This started after I watched Los Cronocrimenes (Time Crimes), a Spanish thriller about a man who accidentally travels back in time to chase himself. Then I watched the US movie Primer, which is about work colleagues who stumble across the ability to send duplicates of themselves through time. Last night I saw Time Lapse, about a camera that produces polaroids of the future. All three of these movies are fairly low budget, so there's no flashy special effects or recognisable actors. They're all completely relying on intricate, paradoxical story lines and a sharp script. If anyone gets a chance to watch any of them please let me know what you thought.
I'm just a few chapters into Danny Baker's autobiography, "Going to sea in a sieve," and had to share a line that I think some of you politically minded people will enjoy. Baker's father was a Docker and the hardest of Millwall docker types. Dannybwas very clever at school and finishing top of year at junior school, had the chance to go to the best school in the area, a good grammar school. He turned it down. On hearing this news from the school who were checking for parental confirmation, Baker senior said, "Boy, if going to a top school made you clever then the Houses of Parliament would be full of ****ing geniuses, but, it ain't, so you do what you like" How profound, back in 1968. I'm sure a few of you will enjoy this.
Saw Primer years ago, loved it, lead to a really great stoner moment where we sat discussing paradoxes and Jurassic Park for about three hours. Then decided we had to watch 12 Monkeys. Another great time travel paradox flick.
Also, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp! Netflix continues to be the best TV channel in the world.
Well, just completed my usual summer ritual and spent £150 on board/tabletop game stuff. New bits for Catan, couple of card games and a new bag of dice. A nice new boxed game too, good for winter in Kuwait! Need to buy an extra suitcase to bring everything back though. Scourge of society me.
