I was the same but my daughter has sorted me out. No point worrying about **** LOL. Plus Fan base means **** all when you have a chairman with no ambition and is happy with 4 from bottom.
Fair point mate but seeing stoke, Swansea and Southampton develop into top 10 contenders pishes me off. I was chilled when my lads were born as well mate but their 2 now and we were division 3 when my dad made me support the lads so I don't want them to go through similar pain I did. On a side note congratulations mate x!
There's a top 6 in the PL and a bottom 14. Every one of the 14 are trying to enter the top group but until they do, every one of them is just one bad managerial choice, a few injuries, or a just a bad run of results away from a relegation struggle. Equally every one of the 14 is capable, with a bit of luck, good form, signings, of finishing almost anywhere in this lower group. This is the straw shaped hope I'm clutching.
I refuse to get upset or worried until at least March. Like Nathan said, there's just too much variability in the bottom 12-14. All the pre-season games we have played so far have been on the road on the back of double training sessions. We've also trotted out sides which are far from our first choice. It's really not that big a deal. Yes, I wish we could have put up some better displays (we've been poor), but we haven't and it will only matter if we carry on like this into the season. Let's see how we go against Hannover and then, more importantly, the first 3-5 games of the season proper. I think we're all just low on confidence after the last few seasons (very understandable). For me, I still believe we are a top 12 side on paper and have the ability with Dick to put it together this season. Lens was fantastic btw.
were we and are we expecting miracles with Dick? We have only improved the club with 1 player at the moment so we are not that much better than last year, still time to change and am hoping we see some more improvements...... fingers crossed.
From what ive read today (with hangover) Lens sounds class. That is the standard and above we should be looking at.
