He'll soon make a much bigger percentage than that on Chester. And before you remind me that he didn't sign Chester... Brownie didn't sign Turner either.
Brownie didn't sign Turner and looking at players signed by one manager and sold by another, Bruce is about to double the profit Brownie managed.
Will this Calculus guy become an integral part of our first team squad? How soon will we be able to differentiate between his contribution and Brady's? Would he work well alongside Elmo's mate, Al Gebra? If he plays to his maximum, this could be a turning point.
I reckon the sum purpose of this post is to multiply into a number of replies. Makes a change from some of the others, which seem to equal divide and conquer.
Its possible that because we sold Brady and released Rosie & Figgy, we've signed Clucas as cover for the left full back / wing back position. So unless Bruce is about to switch formation, I cant see this lad being part of the first 11. Also its very little money, just over a million for a backup player is about right.
Maybe for a premier league club, we're not a premier league club. Not many championship sides spend a million quid on a backup player, that's half the leagues entire budget.
Ryan's a Jack of all Trades or what used to be known as a Utility player. Which is dead handy if the power goes off or we have a gas leak. It he can stay fit then he had the potential to 'do a job for us' as the highly paid pundits would elucidate. I admire him. He's worked very hard to overcome two bloody awful, long-term injuries and the reception he got from Mag's fans on his return was quite emotional and heartfelt. (Well, for Geordie's anyway).
Brady is a huge profit. It's the long term plan you're missing. Robertson is a much better player than Brady. Sonko for Turner was not good business!
Mouyokolo was for Turner, Sonko was back up - Mouyokolo joined in June 2009, Turner left in the August, Sonko came on loan in September and only played 9 games all season - so don't talk daft
I vividly remember an interview between Burnsy and Phil Clown saying Sonko was good enough to replace Turner. See this article from Sky Sports. Sonko was brought in as a direct replacement: "But it's time to move on, and we've brought in Ibrahima Sonko, obviously to try to fill the gap that Michael will leave. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11714/5531076/brown-hopeful-of-sonko-success
Sonko was a direct replacement but was dropped that's why he played nine games. Iain Dowie played him under his tenure. Dowie knew the score when things got ugly!
You have it wrong Sharon, they brought Sonko in as the direct replacement for Turner, so much so that I vividly recall Duffman alluding to the fact that they'd been watching and wanting to get him in for ages, and what a superb player he was. Yes Really!
