Far be it from me to defend Mourinho, but he's saying that your spending over the last few years (he names Cech, Sanchez, Ozil, Chambers, Debuchy etc) has put you in contention. I can't see anywhere where he's denied that they've done the same thing or that they are at a disadvantage. He's only saying what you and members of your board have said all along - that you need to buy top players to compete.

Probably because a) we're not and b) we're not spending. Arsenal have outspent us by over £200m in the last couple of seasons, yet you haven't challenged. Not sure why you'd expect us to. Maybe if you continue to splash the cash you'll be able to actually beat Mourinho one day? I expect the Community Shield to be counted on this, despite nobody actually giving a crap about it.
