Haven't you? Your post in this thread says... The reason why I have abstained in the past from going into too much detail with you is that you seem to be someone who wants to debate for the sake of proving something and intellectualising things. Anything said by someone can easily be pidgeonholed into a certain philosophical standpoint and then pointless arguments can arise. And what is this?: I can only intepret that as an insult based on an assumption, coming after no malice on my part. Essentially, what I feel is that by labelling something as right, wrong, both or neither you don't change it. Definition only applies to logic/intellect. I'm not saying definitions are all utterly useless. They can be useful in helping a person to think about things. But I think that many definitions can lead to harm; one of the worst offenders being ideas of what is wrong and right. Before you get started, I'm not talking about emptiness, existence, or some far flung philosophy. I'm saying that letting go of definitions can be liberating as you come out of the intellect and into direct experience. Abstaining from or letting go of these definitions, including those of wrong and right, will not suddenly make you evil, bad or insane. You do not suddenly lose control (people often assume that having definitions allows you to stay in control of a situation.) You will, perhaps, be able to see and be in touch with the situation for what it is and then act, rather than be clouded by ideologies and prescribed ways of thinking. I'm aware that there have been a lot more threads and discussions on this board about politics and finance recently. So, I have been thinking of making a thread about our owners and their personal finance or business structures in relation to tax, just to see what people think and whether or not people are bothered by it. Tony Fernandes is actually quite a difficult man to find explicit information about, as is AirAsia and TuneGroup. Mittal, on the other hand, has a lot of dirt out on him.
Thank you. You are right I enjoy debate for it's own sake and am happy to take up contrarian and hypocritical positions in order to further it. It's not to 'win', but because I like the process, and sometimes learn from it. I think I understand your position and it will help me when I see some of your posts in future. It is of course well worthy of discussion, but I sense you don't want that so I'll leave it there. Do your thread. I used to be a big fan of TF but have gone 180 degrees on him (at least in terms of competence as a football club owner, he still seems a nice bloke) recently. I have never been happy with Mittal, precisely because of his non QPR business practices.
You obviously don't. Taking a contrary view just to prolong a discussion! That's a wind up in any one's book Mr. Golden!
Well, as you are proving, it takes two to prolong a discussion. I usually only bother when the responses have some interesting content though.
I do understand your point of view but I usually like to keep mostly quiet about it unless I feel the person really wants to listen. And I'm more likely to feel that when I'm not online!
"So we do not play Dundee United at HQ because we are saving the surface, but allow two other teams to play there "in season". I understand our club has to make money...sorry that is a fact...but why do they want to play here and not in Saudi Arabia?" We have a grass pitch and not a sand one?
