Sounds like we've made a final offer which they haven't responded to yet. I don't think they'll take it, I would have thought it needs to be £6m for them to accept, and it don't think it's that much (this I deduce from various internet sources).

Maybe Sven thinks Maynard wants to come to us though, and is claiming he's going for another target if and when this offer is turned down, so that Nicky will start to panic and hand in a transfer request, giving us the advantage. Just a thought.

That non-committal statement has already been posted "I want to do what's best for the club and what's best for me" That's certainly not I'm staying

Yes D F, It is a non committal statement, but the only positive part I see for BC FC is I'm happy here playing football and long may it continue.

There is a posting on a BC forum saying the deal is not dead................
    http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/to...-to-the-loan-market/page__st__45Group:Members

"There is a Final bid of 5.3m for Maynard inc add on's on the table from Leicester. This has not been rejected, and it was confirmed by someone within LCFC to a very good friend of mine in the press. Bristol City have not responded to the bid, but LCFC have said it's non negotiable and it's their final bid. That is why the deal is not dead, because the club have not as yet rejected this. Whether that is because they are waiting to meet Maynard and his agent, or because they have been away, I do not know. But LCFC will pull out of Maynard if this offer is rejected, which is where the half rumour of them dropping interest came from, but LCFC are very firmly stating that this final bid is still on the table and as of yet has not yet been formally rejected."

If he doesnt want promo0tion then he should just sign t6he contract
If on the other hand the new deal is ninepence a week then why should he sgn?
The bad news for him is that only 2 clubs rate him--bcfc & lcfc so sign or ask for a transfer

It certainly sounds plausible and I think it is getting to the maximum valuation of the player considering he's just come back from serious injury, only has one year left on his contract and we started by putting a £2 million bid for him. Again another sign we won't be held to ransom by teams and players demanding excessive money and will only pay what we think a player's worth.

....for goodness sake let's MOVE ON ...he obviously wants more money at Bristol so is using us as his bargaining tool, so move on and forget him, he is certainly not interested in joining "Svens Revolution".... don't care either way, not worth that sort of money, just interested in getting the max out of Bristol... good luck to him, better their money than ours .... NEXT !!!!!!!

If we had a front three of Gallagher Maynard and Routledge I think I would just end up screaming and running around my room for the next 18 years.

Right, can we put this Maynard business to bed please.

I would love Maynard at Leicester, I think he is quality, so...............

Sven, go and bid 6 million for him. If this is knocked back, then FORGET HIM and look elsewhere. Our squad should be assembled now, we need to hit the ground running against Cov.

To be fair I just feel sorry for ourselves and Bristol City. He needs to open his mouth to say what he wants.

Sounds very much like he wants to stay... maybe because he´s scared that we will go up & in himself knows he´ll be a premiership flop. So by staying at BCFC, knowing they are toss, he´ll look go in a below ave npower team.

If SGE has made another bid & that is rejected then let it go & look else where, we´ll go up with or without him :emoticon-0100-smile.

Why are we the only ones chasing Maynard? I think its the old "you really want what you can't have syndrome" Could the reason no one else is after him be that he isn't as good as we've built him up to be in our minds.

I also think he has no intention of signing for either us or Brizzle as he is running his contract down to get a big lump sum when he signs for someone else next summer - All we have done is build his value up

Could be true but Bristol have said they want him to sign a new contract or they'll have to consider selling. So the ball is firmly in Maynard's court and he'll have to sign a contract or be sold. I still think if a PL club bid the money we did Bristol would accept and he'd be off.

What happened to Sven's statement that we only want hungry players!? And players that want to come here! Personally I would of moved on by now and tried elsewhere.....losing the will to live over this one!

Sven would know if Maynard wants to come here. He would of spoken to his agent. If Maynard doesnt want to come here Sven would of pulled out a long time ago

In other news the Yak scored last night for Everton
