I think that's a bit harsh on the club. I go to some away games, but not too many and I think that giving priority to ST holders who went to that number of away games is a pretty fair way and probably the only fair way.

what about fans who don't have a st but go to all the away games? I know some people who do this.

For some clubs nothing ever changes!! Hopefully Saints won't attract any numpties like that on our travels. Would love the fans that are going to come back with a new song sung in Dutch!! And if the journey continues into the autumn the challenge is there to meet up with the host fans of said team and learn a song in their language. It would make match days much more interesting at St Mary's than listening to the occasional "praises" of our friends.

You can't please all of the people all of the time. I think the approach they have taken is fair. It doesn't benefit me as I will miss out on this trip that I have planned to go on, but I still think it is fair.

In 2003 I wasn't a season ticket holder and lived in the North of England and I went to lots of away games that season. I still missed out on a Cup Final ticket via the club and thought it was a fair system. I did get a ticket to the cup final in the end, but had to pay a small fortune to go corporate.

The club here are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Why the hell would they do that? The club is run by completely different people to back then. The way they've done it is completely fair.

I agree, there is a however a flaw in this system in my opinion,if you wern't able
to go to the early away matches last season it became ever more difficult as the season wore on,you couldn't buy for certain games because you hadn't attended
    Earlier games etc etc.
So in theory very difficult to get numbers up if you didn't go to early games and so it continues into this season, this potentially means that the same (relatively)
few people will potentially always get first refusal on tickets.
Not saying I disagree with system but Food for thought.

There is some truth in what you say. I couldn't get to Liverpool game last August and then I was playing catch up myself. This year is the same. I can't go to Newcastle because of a wedding, however I really ant to go to Watford for I have friends who are season ticket holders at Watford. I fear I may miss out because of not attending the Newcastle game.

    C'est la vie.

Is that why the announcer at yesterday's friendly kept saying fans should keep off the pitch. Obviously didn't know our fans are pussy cats. We only invade pitches when we get promotion. :)

So a season ticket holder since the stadium went up , go on average to about 2 / 3 away games season when I can get a chance = no chance of an away ticket ticket to a European away game. Hardly seems fair does it?

It doesn't seem fair, but hopefully, if we get through to the group stages, there will be more seats available at clubs bigger than Vitesse.

Your get a ticket for Watford being on a Sunday if you have some away games in the bank from last season.

But Wow!! What do I know? Didn't see that ticket allocation coming today.

Six of us booked up already....I have 10 aways with two others....two others with 8....and another with 6.
We didn't envisage a problem...now only three of us are guaranteed tickets.

Realistically think this will be the case for well over 1,400.

Would be nice if, if Saints make the group stage, there is some sort of system put in place to allow as many fans who want ot go to one to experience an away European match (seeing as there'll be three to choose from) - rather than the same set of supporters going to all 3.

I wouldn't give up hope quite yet. The club seem to think it won't go beyond 7 matches, but there are plenty of reasons why fans won't be able to attend.
It's holiday season, time off work, cost or like you, groups have attended different numbers of games.

I would say there is a hardcore of a couple of hundred fans who go to every match no matter what the cost, but after that I think the away crowds are usually very different depending on cost and location of matches. If we reach the group stages then I think most season ticket holders will have the chance of a ticket and if the opponents are more far flung, then it could be open to non season ticket holders

seems a fair system...we heard today for Ireland tickets from now on independent travellers will get about five percent of tickets so people that go to nearly every game won't get one and lads that are in favor with our ceo but don't normally go to games get one...refreshing to see saints doing things right

The system is fair....but think there could of been better communication between the clubs at the onset of the draw.

It would appear ticket allocation numbers to us was always going to be limited due to Arnhem/EL Rules.
Even if the finer details of ticket sales were not announced they could of stated our allocation would be very limited.

There is now a fair amount of Saints fans who rightly or wrongly have spent money....If an initial statement had been made saying that ticket allocation would be very restricted it may have prevented some fans from doing so.

What you say is correct, however this the first euro tie for years and in one of the closest destinations.
