Could he be the one we'll lose that we really don't want to go? It normally happens once in every window
Another rubbish story from the Daily Fail. I can't see him moving this season. I also think that with most PL players becoming millionaires at whichever club they are at I don't think money comes into it so much as in the past. E.g. Petr Cech who could have stayed at Chelsea but stated he wanted to play first team football .
It would have to be a pretty sizeable offer, given that we still have to pay him around £6m over the next 3 years - didn't we agree a signing on fee of £8m spread over 4 years?
Can't see this for Taff's money reason (above) and the fact that a couple of French players just joined...but if there was any truth in it I would sell and put the money towards Mitrovich.
That ship has sailed I'm afraid he signed for the Barcodes today . it depends how tempted Huw would be and has the Club any contingency plans in the event that we do lose one or two "star " players at this late stage .
Bafetimbi Gomis is being linked with a mega-money offer to quit Swansea City for Dubai – but won’t be sold by Swansea City. Emirates outfit Al Ahli are reported to be ready to throw money at luring the French striker to the Middle East in a bid to regain their UAE Pro League title and that enquiries have already been made about the 29-year-old’s availability. But any interest in Gomis is set to be firmly knocked-back by Swansea who are ready to put their faith in the former Lyon man a year on from his arrival in South Wales. Goal-laden end to season Gomis made a slow start to life at the Liberty as he struggled in the shadow of Wilfried Bony and brought about speculation over his future when he claimed he was not settled at the club in January. But having been told to forget about a winter exit and to concentrate on his form amid interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham, Gomis underlined his ability with a goal-laden second-half of the campaign. Dont forget we have done our business early and it's only now some teams are doing theirs. I hope nothing comes of this but we cant say that for certain yet....

over a time scale and if he does go ( which i believe and hope he wont) then he wont get £8m as it's part of his contract....
Dai - as it is reportedly spread over the 4 years, then he has already received at least £2m. Additionally, weren't there rumours last January when Palace were reportedly interested that said we were liable to pay the monies, irrespective of whether he went? Like you, I hope he stays!
You dont say to a player that we will give you £8m if you sign a 4 year contract and then honor that deal if he decides to leave after a year. That would be madness...
But you could agree to pay a signing on fee of £8m, albeit with the proviso that it is not paid in one go, but spread over 4 years. In return you get to insert a minimum buy-out clause .....
Whatever he decides we wont lose any money but gain £6m....The problem we have is it has turned gomis's head to earning far more than what he would with us. ..It's gone now from not going anywhere to resist as much as we can to keep him.........the days of the club saying no if he is on a contract looks to have gone and not worth the paper it's written on. All this will he wont he should be given a firm yes/no by monk/jinx and put it to bed......contracts should be honored regardless..
