"Its either us or Bournemouth who you never heard of and are ramshackle or Watford who sacked a record four managers in five weeks last season. Its your call Cherry" Plus he had Leroy Fer in his earhole
Chery picked signing follows key Ramsey trends – signing Tuesday, 21st Jul 2015 00:00 by Clive Whittingham The £2.3m acquisition of Dutch midfielder Tjaronn Chery from Groningen offers clues to what Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand’s QPR side will look like, and continues several key trends of the summer transfer window so far. Facts Tjaronn Chery is a 27-year-old Dutch winger or attacking midfielder. He came through the ranks at FC Twente, winning the Dutch youth championship and reserve league in the process, but initially found progress into the first team difficult due to his slight stature after making his debut at 20. He spent time on loan with SC Cambuur and RBC Roosendaal in the lower leagues before being offloaded to FC Emmen in the second tier in 2010. ADO Den Haag brought him back to the Eredivisie in 2011 and were rewarded with 13 goals in 74 appearances. He moved onto FC Groningen two years ago, initially on loan before completing a permanent €800,000 transfer. He hit his straps last season with 15 goals in 34 appearances from midfield culminating in a starring performance as Groningen won the Dutch cup final. No other Eredivisie midfielder scored more last season. ... Read the rest of this here ... http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/39344/?
I'd love to see you and Clive sit down together and have a pint, he's such an unassuming fella who loves his 'R's as much as anyone I've ever met. You'd get on really well with him when you realise what a kind and genuine bloke that he is you'll change your tune. Anyway, consider yourself infamous, as when he he is on the QPR podcasts he speaks badly of us... and it's down to you. He does go on a bit though to be fair
Clive also knows more about footy than nearly all of us on here too... Much more than me...and I suspect an awful lot more than you do Swordsy...so give the man his due. I learn an awful lot from him.....and I for one like his style....and his bad joke in every report
C'mom Beth, how much is there to know about football? My assumption is based on SWP method of play ........... run around for ages, run past everybody, give yourself a clear shot at goal ......... keep running it till you reach the corner post, run out of breath and give it away, easy! Sorry, I wasn't aware there was anything else to know? I'm willing to learn. Hopefully now that SWP is gone, the replacement might enlighten me.
Aussie I am disappointed in you....it appears I know so much more about "footy-the-qpr" way than your limited "footy the SWP way" ideas. For example there is the ... 1....There is the play good and competent footy until the 80 minute and then pass the ball back to your suspect CD who will watch it roll under his foot to an on rushing forward....who side foots it into the net. 2....There is watching the corner being taken technique..which involves doing nothing for 30 seconds. 3.....There is the let's see who can hit the opposing player standing in the wall squarely in the chest when taking free kicks techniques...accurate in the QPR team 97% of the time (only Niko couldn't master that technique) 4....There is the passing the ball back to the goalie whose efficient and accurate kicking ensures fluent and rapid progression. 5.....There is the hoofball technique, that requires a legend (OBZ) at the end of every forward ball Need I go on.
Cheers Beth. Something that may just work in our favour is that with this guy supposedly moving to us via friendship or alike with Fer. There has been much talk about Fer moving on but I'm now thinking he may intend to stay with this new signing, yes / no? http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/783696276?-294:802:3
Would really like it if Fer stayed Aussie. Would really like it if either Fer or Phillips stayed...funny enough I would be "happy" if McCarthy and Austin leave, I feel it is enevitable. McCarthy I have not been impressed with and Austin was the past not the future...and we can get a lot for him Fer would be excellent A forward line of Poulter, Fer and Chery...now that would be interesting

Les Ferdinand explains why Tjaronn Chery chose QPR move Billy Hawkins @bhawkinsss Published now please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Billy Hawkins @bhawkinsss View image | gettyimages.com Chery was a target for Villa earlier this summer, but he has ended up at QPR, and director of football Les Ferdinand has told the official club website why he opted to sign for the Championship club. Ferdinand said: “There were a lot of clubs in for him, including some from the Premier League, so it’s pleasing that he’s decided to come here. He had offers to earn much more money elsewhere, but he’s chosen QPR because he feels he can progress here as a player and that’s fantastic.” Signing Chery should be considered a real coup for the R’s, especially with Villa submitting offers for him, as per the Birmingham Mail. Recent Aston Villa signing makes comments which will annoy fans[/a] Ferdinand believes Chery opted to move to Loftus Road due to the growth he can undergo at the club, with first-team chances almost guaranteed with the R’s. He will be a key part of Chris Ramsey’s plans for the upcoming campaign, and the Championship side have arguably completed one of the best signings of the summer by managing to bring Chery at Loftus Road.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder was Gronigen’s stand-out performer last season with 15 goals (see video). As a result, he was one of only five players to play a part in more than 20 Eredivisie strikes last term and helped win a first international call-up. Chery joins Ben Gladwin, Massimo Luongo, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Jamie Mackie and Sebastian Polter on the new boys’ roster
Excellent. Keep Phillips and Fer, plus Gladwin and Luongo, and its impossible for Jamie Mackie to get a kick. Unless we are converting him to right back.
It's happening all over again. We get relegated, I tell myself not to get excited. Our aim is stability, avoid the double drop, expect to be in the Championship for a couple of seasons at least, the well has run dry - certainly after the FFP fine. And then they go and buy players like this some of whose goals have been mouth watering to watch!! From feet on the ground to head in the clouds in nanoseconds. It's like a disease but "We're gonna win the league"!!
