Yeah it's not great. We've got 2 more years living in Lancaster (which is a nice place) but I work 3 hours drive away and go home once every 2-3 weekends.
As in the original version by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant? Best comedy series of all time in my view. Absolute genius.
The US version is also actually very funny, but the original is just superb. Tremendous writing, and the cast are great. You should watch it
Go for it! Might take a few episodes to know the characters, but is really funny. It's on Gold Friday evenings at the moment. *replied to wrong post
The episode where Gervais conducted staff reviews was hilarious....mainly because it must strike home with anyone who has ever had such a review.
They're all hilarious, but always loved the 'training' episode. The role play part is absolute genius.
I just wish I could post up a link to the "How to sell *our products* .." role play video we were asked to watch recently... oh dear!!!!!
Years ago I was involved in role play....I was asked to play a food manager who was anti everything on principle as she felt marginalised. Oh dear....unleashed a demon there. I had to rein back because the person playing the team leader began to look seriously stressed....didn't want to make him look bad, so I changed to being in a sulk instead.
I always found The Office hard to watch as I was still in corporateland when it was broadcast - it just reminded me of places I had worked. My wife watched the "Simply the Best" motivational training through the crack in the living room door. Literally. She had to watch it but simply couldn't be in the room. Toe-curlingly magnificent. Vin
I have a beard and have had one for about 8 years now. It's almost an exact replica of Cantona's current one. I actually had a couple take a photo with me because I look so much like him....
