Bent's a very good goalscorer and pretty much guarantees you 20 goals a season, but there is no way Villa will part with him this summer.

I would like us to go after Danny Welbeck. I think that he would fit in really well with Ba and HBA.

    edit
He would need to have a bath though, after spending too much time with our less-than-hygenic neighbours

You need to go back to school to redo your maths GCSE.

The value of purchase floating around is 12mil.

You said they bought him for 18mil and will have to pay a further 6mil if they sell him.

Which would be 24million all together, for them to get 6mil proft we'd have to buy him for 30 mil not 12.

I dont even think he's a particully good goalscorer,he ****s up way too many chances to be put in a team on goals alone and seeing as he clearly brings nothing else to the team i cant understand why he's so highley rated

Was thinking the same thing, felt pointless to reply though. Some people are just born idiots.

He's got nearly a 1 in 2 average for most of his career .. one thing he can't be faulted for is his actual goalscoring ..

    You know what they say.

There are three kinds of people in this world.
Those who can count and those who can't.

Ok then chance taking. With that record it would be stupid to say he doesn't score the goals but i doubt his goals/chances ratio is anything special at all

No, aside from everything else mentioned, he's a mercenary.

  10. Yes i know that, i'm not stupid, i got A in maths GCSE btw.

What i'm saying is if they sold him for 12 mil, they'll only actually be getting 6m because they have to pay 6m to sell him....

I guess he's kinda like Ibrahimovic in the whole effort and team playing vs goals scored debate. Obviously, just nowhere near as cool as Ibra...

Having said that, its a pointless discussion. Villa are not going to sell him and theyre certainly not going to be able to sell him for a high enough fee to get any worthwhile profit at this stage. I also doubt he'd come up here, not just for the NUFC/unwashed southern types rivalry, but for his England team place too.

Someone also mentioned Welbeck, but hasnt SAF said he's staying at Man Utd? Macheda would be the only one leaving them until Berbatov goes.

No, you said £6mil profit, that wouldn't be £6mil profit.

  13. Well that's not what i meant, i just meant 6m return. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but you didn't need to act like that.

They'd still have spent £24m though, so no matter how you word it they've lost £12m.

  16. I know, i never said they wouldn't have made a loss, but what i meant to say is they get 6m quid back at least.

What you say and what you mean to say are two different things. That could be avoided if you took the time to read your articles / comments over before posting.

Agree with this, the way he left Sunderland was typical of many of todays big money earners, but to actually issue the same statement when joining Villa as he did when joining Sunderland was pretty poor.

I don't mind footballers being mercs tbh, I mean it's their occupation I would leave my work for more money. As long as they don't announce their love for a club etc then leave for money, i.e. Carroll and if they are mercs as long as they do the job they are paid for, ie. not Owen.
