You may laugh Bod - but we'll be looking down laughing at you come May Ings for Golden Boot Bogdan for Golden Gloves.
Ings. The Liverpool board moaned at Rodgers they they wanted quality Signings. He thought they said they wanted him to sign Ings. It was all a big mistake.
You have advocated Jose play the kids in his squad yet have concerns we aren't signing players like our rivals. Any such signings are likely to put these kids even further down the pecking order. We can't have it both ways unless we throw out a few of those who successfully brought home a title.
That depends on who else we sign and who leaves. RLC is more a Fabregas player than a Matic, and I think is ready to join the squad and play as Zouma was played last year. However thats not happening. Bamford is also ready for a 3 rd strikers role in my opinion. Ake is ahead of both and has already played and excelled when given the chance. Zouma is a no brainer. I don't think anyone wants all of them in the team at the same time, but each of them 6 games a season over all comps is about right. None of them is what I am opposed to, no matter who we buy.
See post above this. I have not advocated playing a team of kids, but a squad with some kids. Better to have played Ake than buy Luis? I think so. Better to buy Quadrado than bring on a good kid? I don't think so. If we have a strong squad there must be some kids brought in. We are trying to buy a 21 year old Stone, and we have kids potentially as good , maybe not in his position, getting splinters in their bums. Just for an end to an ongoing point of view, mine is, trust in youth, the best teams have a blend of experience and youth.
Really? I would say he is far closer to Matic than Fabregas atm... But hopefully he can become our Pogba
I hear you but Ake is a midfielder, Luis a LB. Re Quadrado: do we have any youth wide players you reckon ready to step up?
We'll sign two players, if they're Stones and Witsel we'll still have the best squad in the league. Even without them we've still probably got the best squad. If anybody else leaves our first team then we'll replace them but if not i can only see two players coming in. As for the kids i'm pretty certain Traore will be in the first team squad next season, can play in plenty of positions and is certainly good enough.
Who are the 2 players have we spent £70m on? Stirling £44 + a potential £5 extra and Delph at £8m are the 2 most expensive ones Stirling will improve our starting line up,we relied on Navas for pace out wide and he's been very poor
The fee is £2m with potential add ons which may rise to £10m n time Still don't see where the £70m comes from
Good points CP and I get where your coming from but you emphasise very well why I get a little irate with the call for kids. We sign many fantastic players but we only call for they young ones to replace our questionable transfers after the event (Luis & Cuards you name in this instance) which is easy to do with hindsight. I go on record as still believing that after a pre season Quardrado will turn out to be a positive signing for us. Ideally our team would be made up of players coming through the youth system but after seeing instances such as Sterling and Lukaku why should we show them more loyalty than they are likely to give us? So many of them are so far up their own ar5es in my book. Unlike yourself I do not trust in youth but respect your opinion. My view is if your good enough your chance will come and I trust in JM to make that decision. I couldn't agree more about Stone - seems a ridiculous amount of money to me. However, I have to accept that there are people within our club far more knowledgeable than me who think it is cash well spent.
He's a left back CP. Do you think we could have made him a left/right winger? He made the correct choice leaving as he would never play ahead of Azpi and he is doing great at Saints
