@damianspellman asked Alan Pardew what the situation was regarding Neil Taylor and Charles N'Zogbia... Pardew said that the club had given up on both players.

The Chronicle have also just posted this on their website:

    Cwarr07 just tweeted:

Regardless of Cwarr this club is still ****ing me off. We should really be trying to sign players of the calibre of N'Zogbia. Instead, we're doing naff all while clubs like Villa (our competition in the league) are making themselves much stronger.

Would have been nice but he was not a priority. I'll only be disappointed if we have not signed a left back and striker before deadline day. If they want a left winger or one who can play both sides, what about that Shaqiri from Basel. Young, high quality with great sell on potential.

TBH, was never sure where the zog was going to play. Marveux plays on the left and obviously Jonas can do a job on the left, plus dont forget Ferguson (more of a winger than LB IMO)

So not too bothered we havnet got him. Dont forget half the issue with him when he was here was that he couldnt oust Duff as LM and he whinged about it.

Due to managers inability to drop ****e players just because they picked up big wages.

In all fairness, I wasn't too fussed about us signing N'Zog... besides, our midfield is very crowded as it is and we desperately need to strengthen our defence and strikeforce!

This, but i also want strength and depth to our squad!

Pardew has said that he wants 1/2 in and 1/2 out and if that's the case in we'll surely have the same thin squad as last year <doh>

For a club that was reportedly after the player so much in Jan
and for a guy that so much wanted to 'come home'

we now have the scenerio of
a club that will not pay any money for the player
and a player that thinks home is not that good enough to play football unless there are hefty wages to be had

I can see a lot of name calling to and fro here

Yeah, and they're investing that cash in coming back stronger.

We sold one of our best players for £35mill, and barely spent **** all of it.

It's obviously just all rumours atm and Cwarr is a bell so take it all with a pinch of salt.

    LM: Jonas, Marveux, Ferguson, HBA
    RM: Barton, Jonas, HBA, Gosling

We've got plenty of good players to play on wither wing (Only put Gosling there as cover really) so he isn't really essential although I'd still like him back.

It's nice to see someone on the same wavelength, if we really wanted to move forward as a club then we would have re-invested the full £35m on the best quality players available.

I personally don't think we'l see much of the money either but at least wait til the end of the window before going on about not spending all this money.

It's quite evident that we're not going to spend money, so far we've signed players but spent nowt.

Why spend money for the sake of spending money though? Would you have been happier if they'd all cost £5m each....?

Having said that I will agree that we need to spend on a good striker so if we don't do that I'll be disappointed!
