We seem to be lagging badly in the squad strengthening stakes. Utd look stronger in midfield especially. If swiensteiger is half the player Ballak was for us, hes a great signing. Now they are lining up Pedro as well it seems. City are adding players of great potential and their squad looks at least the equal of ours now.
We don't seem to have added strength or back up anywhere, Falcao being still a bit of a risk. Not suggesting a spending spree is necessary, but we won't get better by standing still.
Anyone else bemused by the apparent lack of action, and / or players we were linked with now talking to our opponents?
Jose rarely ballses these things up, but its not easy watching from the sidelines !

I think you need another striker (wouldn't bet on Falcao) and a back up to Hazard, other than that you should be good to go.

    City are signing mediocre players.

    Utd were mediocre last year.

We were very good last year, we also have to be faithful to the players who won us trophies. Add in the fact that there are few players we could buy whod come and improve us for decent money...theres not much we can do

Yeah. That would be a great signing with loads of years ahead of him. Already a class act and he'll get better.

The Mancs both have an impressive squad of players! What they don't have is A Special One managing them! There lies the difference!

We'll be active. Mikel and Cuadrado might both.leave along with Remy. Those players will be replaced. Just because the papers say United want Pedro doesn't mean they will get him. If we want him I'm sure he will want to play with Fabregas again.

United have been linked with Gaitan, Cavani, Otamendi, Ramos, and about100 others, doesn't mean it's going to happen

It was only a few weeks ago there was a clamour of bringing the kids through.

For me City have gone backwards.
I dont rate Pellegrini, and all they have bought is Sterling really, who is decent, but not the type of player to take your squad to the next level like a Suarez or someone of that ilk.
    City 4th for me.

    United and Arsenal have improved.
Arsenal still need a CF, but GK was a weak department for them which they have solved.
But the biggest signing they need is a new manager. No title for them as long as Wenger is there. He isn't tactically astute or ruthless enough, i am saying 2nd tops.

United have improved their midfield ten fold.
Schwein and Schneid are good signings. Darmien is decent. They need a CB though. They aint winning no titles with Jones, Smalling and Rojo as their CB's I am afraid. 3rd for United.

    Chelsea.
We have Jose, who is a genius, we also have adequately replaced Drogba and Cech which is good. But we need to keep Remy and sign a box to box midfielder to sit next to Matic imo. That is our one weak area. We nail that and we are golden imo.

City have spent £70m on 2 players and not improved their starting line up in my opinion.

Arsenal have improved with Cech and they are also a squad that doesn't need too much altering from last season. If they sign a decent CF then they're in business.

Man United are interesting. Obviously they're squad is vastly improved now with the midfield additions, but remember Bastian is a 31 year old central midfielder who hasn't had an injury free season for the past 3-4 years. I don't think he'll make up to 30 starts to be honest, but that doesn't really matter as he will swap out with Carrick. Schniderlin is a solid signing. Depay I think will struggle at first but with find his feet later in the season. If Di Maria can really play to his full abilities, with Rooney up top, then they will be a really freightening prospect. I dont see them losing games 5-3 again...

Don't recall a clamour, rather a hope that RLC and maybe Bamford and Ake would make the squad and get some game time as Zouma did. Didn't hurt Zouma at all, nor the performance of the team.

Would you rather we signed more players or gave RLC etc a few games this season?

You've got some distance to go before you match Liverpool this season.
