Where is our first team? Probably somewhere between standing expectantly on a dusty Italian pitch hoping for some opposition to arrive and thumbing a lift back after discovering that the tour operator is actually a hollow fronted mafia run money laundering scam. The team, with a bit of strengthening at the back, is OK but I'd expect a few leavers and replacements before it's all through. We've done well to be where we are already.
The Chery video is impressive. I think we have some decent individual defenders and I believe Caulker will come good. But the sum of our defensive parts doesn't add up to a decent unit: this will be a test of CR's coaching skills. And, of course, we have no strength in depth in our defence. Furlong is not yet a first choice RB and we need to recruit some quality defenders to put pressure on the likes of Caulker, Onuoha and Yun who all, on their day, play like they're in a trance.
I can see the FA looking at the money coming in and rubbing their hands in glee. The more we make in the transfer market the more they will try to sting us for over ffp.
Again we lack balance. No recognized RB, we're overloaded with CM's and very little width. More so if Hoilett, Phillips and Traore (If as expected) move on.
I'm getting the impression you are very much a glass half empty kind of bloke Plenty more positive spins on that same negative spin Because of FFP that you are so worried about we are to a certain extent constrained by the amoount of players we can bring in until we move the Fer's, Austin and if we are lucky Hoileltt's out. Austin in particular is a big cog in that, which seems to be moving along. Once that kicks in, then expect the rest to fall into place. Sterling though has been an absolute Brucie,
So when will we back in the promised land Elnino ? By the way I hope I'm wrong (I really do), but I'm a realist and this isn't going to go well Here are a few simple facts - Will our top goalscorer be sold in the summer (I feel the answer begins with a Y) Bar Mackie are we any stronger against "Boro and the relegated teams ?" (I feel the answer begins with a N) How many coaches have made the grade at their first club as a manager ? Will Tony F put his hand deeply in his pocket again (I think we know the answer already) The Mitals - Will they commit to the cause further and supply funds ? (I think we know the answer already) In 1996 we were relegated from the Premier league and chanted at the last away game - Next year we will win the league (I know I was there) These are cold hard facts and next season we will be (IF WE ARE LUCKY) a mid table team..................... First piece of advise - lets get Ben Pattie in the squad - he is young, hungry and can score goals.......... I have loved this club for 45 years - but I feel so saddened that the forthcoming years unfortunately (and I hope I'm wrong) will be dark ones...........
****ing hell this place is so negative. You put a downer on us because we are likely to lose our top goal scorer and then compare us to having no chance against Boro and Burnely and Hull. Did you realise that Burnely (Ings) and Boro (Bamford) have also lost their top goalscorer? And Hull’s top scorer was fading carthorse Jelavic with 8 goals. Hoow can we compete with that?!?!??????!! We’ve since signed a guy from same level in Germany with a far better goals to game ratio than any of them. How much would he be worth with that record in the championsip?! You've also overlooked that and us signing the best player at the Asia Cup in 2015. As for Ramsey I agree he is the weak link but if he does underperform as an ex- academy coach promoted above his station hopefuly like Norwich who did exactly the same thing (Academy coach then sacked him) we can get a proper manager in and still get promoted. Tony and Co don’t need to put loads in because we are likely to receive between £30 and £40m in transfer fees on top of the parachute payments and having dumped the untalented expensive and toxic deadwood like SWP, Barton etc Last time we were relegated from the prem with a negative **** of a manager and still got promoted. This time we’ve got a Sir Les looking after our best interests and I have far more faith in him than Ray Wilkins
Yes I think are very wrong mate We will be back up in a short while Any expert on here thought Bournemouth would rip it up ? It's the most competitive league in the world and we will be in the mix of 13 teams that could go up Look at Hull very strong The days of premiership football were very badly managed by the club in fact they were useless hence TF going off
Doughty didn't look completely out of place in the few opportunities he got in the Premiership. Shame he got injured.
Maybe so but for the first time in a long time it looks like a squad I'll really want to get behind and support. I'll definitely be getting behind the youngsters because it looks like they'll get their chances and there're other young prospects coming in. Our current squad of this minute has plenty of players who could display some quality moments of football for us to enjoy too. A fresh start. We may not win the league but the refresh feels good. CR has a better character than we've had in the managerial position for a long time too. I'm looking forward to this season.
Yes, many apologies for that. Slip of the pen. Do I have to do 1,000 lines or will I be banned for a month?
Point -1 ........No, he is not! Don't take my word for it, he has proved it time and time again over the past 12 months. Point-2 ........Sorry to burst your bubble but he won't stay to play second fiddle. We want him to stay but it won't happen.
