I honestly dont understand why Congerton gets such a bad rap. Last year he signed PVA and Pants who were argubly our two best signings (for peanuts may i add). In addition he managed to swap Defoe with Altidore, attempted to sighn Micah Richards, Victor Moses & Toby Alderweid only for Poyet to knock them back with some underhanded tactics. If anyone signed ****e last year it was Poyet with Vergini, Buckley, etc and is previous business of Bridcutt and Scocco where just as appauling as well.
Because it's a low shot and easy to do ........ some people will always take the easy option tbh. As a Sunderland supporter it's much easier to whinge and moan than be optimistic. Cest will be off now trying to find ways to pull the transfer down.
Got to agree with this. Lets face it, we lack quality, we lack pace and the end of last season was all about survival. Give the manager a chance to set his own team up, the way he wants us to play. He talks the talk and is very impressive,we have to give him a chance to show us what he can do imho
He appears to be reshaping the team for a new style in a way that no manager has done for the past four years. It may be worth taking a bet that Lombaerts will end up in the EPL but with more money in his back pocket.
My glass just went from half-full to three quarters full so I'm very ****ing happy!!! And still plenty of time for Old Eggnog to add more quality. And still plenty of time to offload / give away / loan out, our journeymen!
No need to knock Cest or anyone at the club. We're pottering on happily ATM and long may it continue!
It's not our fault Lombaerts has a crocked knee. We did the right thing to lowball him on the personal terms given the risk. For our money we need a CB who will be our best week in and week out. As for Cest's comments generally, I'm happy to give Conga and Dicky the time to see what they can do. All our recent transfer disasters seem to have Poyet, DiCanio, DiFanti, O'Neill and Bruce written all over them. Cest is right - we've completely stunk in recent times. However, as for now, there is good reason to believe we'll do better - which sure as **** beats having no hope at all.
I was on about Fletcher ya daft ****. You almost ****ed yourself into a kink when we pissed £12m up the wall on him.
