I might be going OTT slightly - but this whole player pledge thing ****** me off. It would be seen as a bit of fun should we actually be making signings, but it just feels like a slap in the face every time they promote it. What would sell more than 100 tickets at a time? Showing the club to have more ambition other than becoming an internet ''brand'' hell bent on making e-publicaitons like the Lad Bible.
The truth is always drowned in a sea of irrelevance. People are happy, laughing that so and so shaved his legs, etc., which detracts away from the fact that we have not enough players, and will be staring relegation in the face. "We have failed to take into account mans almost infinite appetite for distractions" - Huxley
New Horizons satellite will fly 7,800 miles from Pluto. Sent back today the first ever clear closeup images today. Have to admit they look amazing! Looking forward to the first Hi-Res ones coming through. Does make me wonder though, how NASA can communicate in under 4 hours with an object 5 billion miles away, that has been travelling for the last 9 years, and our club is so crap at tell us stuff!
It's mind-boggling, an absolute modern miracle IMO. The achievement just beggars belief. That and Rosetta, sitting pretty on her comet. WOW!!!!!
Some of the High Res pictures of the outer planets it took too was amazing. Jupiter was seen in such colour, as for Uranus.
I see the Beeb have stopped referring to Chris Froome as a British rider, following the drug-taking allegations. Considering that he was born in Kenya and lives in Monaco to avoid paying his taxes (like Lewis Hamilton), Calling him British just because he won the Tour de France was stretching it a bit anyway.
Which category do you think other clubs see us as? Bottom 3? Most of the teams in the Champinship have been in the Premier League more recently than us now surely?
I would say we're the cheapest category for pretty much every club now. For most of the country we are just another run-of-the-mill London club.
Most fans I speak to seem to think we're ok. I try not to point out too much about what I'm concerned about - it's nice having people think we're decent considering the 7 years after we left the premier league
Chicago Addick has a good blog up - questioning why we're playing st truiden. As they use an artificial pitch the likes of JJ, solly and hendo will return to the UK and feature against dulwich. Still, it doesn't stop the players still in Belgium exposing themselves to injury. It seems an unnecessary risk.
Watched Raiders of the Lost Ark again; for close to the hundredth time....... Still a top class movie!
Indiana Jones - some of my favourite memories. Not sure what relation it has to Christmas - but definitely appreciate the fact they're played at that time every year.
CA has a point to be honest. I support KM and RD but clearly this game is for their benefit not the players, they want to show their faces because she supports STVV and RD has an interest as we all know. Maybe they are there to test the water into taking them over who knows but one thing is for sure, this is one game where the football is secondary I think.
Exclude the last one from that bunch. I've only seen it once, and hated it! Aliens and no NAZIs? What they think they were trying to create... A crap version of the X-Files. I agree to. They show some great movies at Christmas, but nothing to do with it. Even the Dr Who is not usually Christmas themed.
