Sterling is easily replaceable, unlike Suarez. In fact, we have FIrmino, Ibe and Markovic already. We need to use the Sterling money on a ST and other areas like DM and defence.
Liverpool remain keen on Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, 24, but are still refusing to pay the £32m asking price - despite selling Raheem Sterling to Manchester City for £49m on Tuesday. (Mirror) Chelsea are confident of beating both Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of Barcelona forward Pedro after meeting a £22m release fee in the 27-year-old's contract. Fallen out of favour at Bayern hasn't he? If the big target man type of CF is what we're after, then absolutely.
linked to utd already. utd seem to have a choice of lewandowski (old link) and cavani.... but also linked to Gaitan who is another Left side forward... i think mr van Gaal has a left fetish myself. anyway..... lewandowski is more proof if any were needed that guardiola is slowly ruining bayern munich. the failed Spanish mentality of 8 midfielders on a pitch passing it to death has passed with the top top players they had that made the madness work. Sweinsteiger could not wait to get away from pep. lewandowski will be the same.
I think it's about adapting to what you have - Pep at Barca was brilliant and instilled a style which suited the players. Bayern have players who fast and direct. Pep is trying to impose a style which doesn't suit the players - it's one of the reasons why I think Pep is a good manager but not a great one yet.
well when you've xavi iniesta and messi all in their prime.................... Bayern have a totally different style that pep is stripping away leaving a shadow of what it was. If he goes to city i can see him ending up in 5th
For once, we're in agreement. We're probably also in agreement thAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO CHANCE OF THIS HAPPENING <LAUGH> (****, I caught the caps lock button!)
Yep, doubt we will get him but he's eg that big strikers can offer a lot more. Benteke is so one dimensional.

It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club. please log in to view this image Liverpool have resumed talks with Aston Villa over Christian Benteke but have been warned there will be no deal unless the £32.5 million buy-out clause is triggered. Benteke remains Liverpool's primary striker target this summer and dialogue between the two clubs has reopened after Raheem Sterling was sold to Manchester City. Villa are adamant that they will not accept any offers below the figure written into the Belgium international's contract but Liverpool hold reservations about the valuation, which has led to an impasse. Tim Sherwood, the Villa manager, insists Benteke will be staying unless Liverpool pay the required fee but it is widely anticipated that Liverpool will step up their pursuit of the 24-year-old in the next few days. Sherwood said: "If someone matches that buy-out clause there is nothing we can do about it, but until that happens he is an Aston Villa player and we are all very pleased about that. "Liverpool have six or seven strikers at the club so I'm not sure how many more they actually need. "We know Christian is a very good player and we want to keep hold of him. "It's out of our control because if somebody bids that money, Christian Benteke leaves the football club. "But we hope he doesn't, we hope nobody bids that money and we hope he doesn't want to go. We hope he knuckles down and we can build something fresh, which is what we're trying to achieve here." If you want to take at least one of them off our hands Tim you'd be more than welcome. Also your definition of Striker might be off, last I counted we had 4 and 1 youth if can call them strikers.
