In my naivety, when Bernie and Flavio took over, I stupidly thought we'd stopped being a selling club and become a buying / keeping club. Having bought a whole ton of tat, it's heart breaking to see us become a selling club. Again.

We have bought too but not of the quality we're losing. Hope Mackie proves me wrong!

That's a Ferntastic post Sooper but wouldn't having all those Fereign players go against the Ferlosphy of a club trying to avoid another Financial Fer Play fine. But we do have to say Fernks to Man City Fer our biggest payday Fer Ferkin ages!

I think its fantastic. Its the only way a small Club can be run successfully. Southampton are the perfect example of this, the Swans next.

I hope we sell Austin and sell him quick. He won't be worth diddly this time next year.

I agree. I think that it's difficult for many of us to accept to see our prolific goal scorer leave us. We haven't had too many like him recently. But to be honest I didn't know a lot about him until he joined us. There must be another one like him out there that can be unearthed and can do the business. Then again, maybe we already have one.

If we could get most of our investment back on Caulker, as in the case of Chris Samba that would be like a get out of jail card - never understood how we were able to do that with Samba when he was a lumbering out of shape giant for us. Caulker just doesn't seem to read a game - did he ever, will he ever? And then his recreational bar brawling activities - perhaps he was dropped on his head as a baby?

I think you answer your own question.
I think it's a win/win for us. If we sell him now, we bank £15m and if he stays, we may well get promoted, bringing all the financial rewards that go with it.

I actually like the idea of brining in new talent and moving on when time is right than buying old finished players on high wages.

That is how it should be.

CR now has the opportunity to do so as immediate promotion is not an absolute essential and so he can go down the better route of building a proper team, not just a "one year promotion at all costs - sod the following season" team.

I'm not worried about promotion too much now because after last season i was on a real 'downer'.
Didn't enjoy going away with the team set out for a draw under Harry.
Didn't enjoy every ref decision go against us v the big clubs.
Didn't enjoy watching over paid muppets just collect their wage and not play.
Happy to watch us with players wanting to play for QPR.
    I will miss Joey though.

When you see the sums of money that the so called "Big 4" are splashing out on players it makes me glad that we are not in the top flight this season, we would be lucky to get 20 points in the season.......I look forward to the day when the Big 4 all bugger off and set up the European League with their friends in Spain, Italy, Germany, France etc and they can play each other ad nauseam. Only then will top flight football regain some balance and become competative once again........

    I know Swords won't agree with this......:emoticon-0101-sadsm

It's nearly that now (Euro league). Agree i can't wait to see Chelsea F off to a Europe league. That will suit their plastic fans as well.
I said in another thread that it's obscene the money they pay on wages. Supporters are getting priced out of what should be a access to all sport because of greed. The bubble will burst one day and a lot of clubs will be in the muck. I would put a cap on player wages for starters and if they don't like it then f off somewhere else.

We are way out of line on player wages. 2013 figures. The ****ing Championship is the 8th best paid league in the world, ffs.

Being we are approaching the last few days of the summer player shopping window, will we get our asking prices of £15 million for Austin and £10 million for Phillips? Or will there be a last minute blue cross style sale, transfer requests or will they still be QPR?

Also is there life on Mars?

I agree, I love his goal scoring ability, but we should bank the money now - always a chance that he could get crocked again around Christmas, just when the January transfer window is about to open, as occurred in his first season with us.
