10 minutes to go. If we can keep both wickets intact, I reckon 450 is a realistic overnight target. So much for that
If someone had said before the Trst started that we would set the Aussies 412 to win, and have 2 days to bowl them out, no-one would have believed it. Only 2 teams have ever chased down a higher target. Let's hope the Welsh weather doesn't intervene to save them,
Their batting don't impress either. Quietly confident tonight but not going to get to carried away. The Aussies are great fighters! It ain't over yet.
BBC Wales Weather forecast is for a good morning tomorrow, but showers coming in afternoon. Heavy rain overnight, with rain Sunday morning, but a decent afternoon. Could be tense!
I've read a lot of bollocks in the press tonight criticising the way England batted today. Given that the forecast for Sunday is to piss it down I think they got it spot on; if they had crawled to 180 - 7 by the close tonight then batted through to lunch tomorrow for a lead of 400 then we lose a days play and end up drawing then match the whingers would really have been out in force...
The forecast Ive seen was just rain tonght and overnight tomorrow into sunday morning. Should leave sunday afternoon free. I'd have been happer with 450 tbh.
Fair enough, but the forecast earlier today looked worse. To be honest if the Australians chase down 412 on that pitch they will absolutely deserve to win the match; it is a total that has only been achieved once before to win in the fourth innings and there is plenty of rough for Ali (and Joe Root) to bowl into to make things interesting...
Totally agree mate. If they chase it down it'll have been a classic Ashes match. Can't wait for tomorrow.
@Aussie blackcat85 @Hairyhaggis Hey guys.. How you think it's going so far? I'm pleasantly surprised tbh! Do you reckon you'll chase 412?
They've gone walkabout in the outback mate. There's no wifi out there. They might be back for the second test, when, according to Aussie and HH, they've given us a 1 game start to make it interesting (if we win that is, fingers and toes crossed). They are conspicuous by their absence though, aren't they.
Good to hear from you mate! We were worried about you. What with those sharks, gators, snakes, and spiders, wayward bowling and dodgy batting we thought you'd be gone for a while. Still not writing you guys off just yet though. Looking forward to tomorrow. All the best mate.
Oh right, sorry mate, no worries. I can be a thoughtless bastard at times. Off to my bed - catch you tomorrow. Good to hear from you fella.
