Eastern Angel - Nap nap nap - Ran a superb race in the Queen Mary finishing second to the American Acapulco but finished 2 1/2 lengths clear of the 3rd. A reproduction of that run will be far far to good for these. 15/8 second favourite. Monster bet
The Falmouth does not look that strong to my eyes and the 3/1 on offer for Lucida will do me. The French will offer some resistance, with Fintry the one to probably be most concerned about. Manning has come in for stick over his riding of this filly of late and harshly so to me. He can guide Lucida to a win here and recoup the 1000 and Coronation losses incurred.
Richard Hughes stated in the racing post the other day that Nisser was the best two year old in the Hannon yard.Runs in the first at Ascot but it's a bit skinny for me at 5/4,could be worth throwing in a double if anything else takes your fancy

Welcome Freddo. And good morning, Ekbalco: for what it's worth, I thought that Space War (6.15, the ladies' race) got a very gentle ride from Danni Mooney earlier this week at Ripon. Jo Mason, who can't claim in this race, rides tonight and the horse isn't badly drawn in 6/12. Without any supporting evidence at all, I get the feeling that this might be a Mick Easterby plot - get there early, keep sober and keep an eye on the market. Good luck.
It will be interesting how many people turn up in the centre of the course tomorrow now that you cant take your own alcohol in any more, there is no reason to use it any more as the view is absolute crap and you can get in the Dee stand for about 2 quid more. Silly decision which will cost them a lot of money I think.
Also fancy Express Himself in the last at HQ, won cheekily last time out and the second has won since off a 2lb higher mark. Express Himself has gone up 5lb but he completely missed the start at Haydock.
Morining, you types. Hope everyone well. I like a couple today both of whom are currently available at double digit, I say double digit, odds. Here we go then: Ballesteros (4.00 York) – This one has proved a very in and out performer over the terms and hasn’t won for over 3 years. However, because of this he has slide down the handicap to today’s perch of 82 (he peaked at 107 in 2013). A couple of runs, this season, indicate that the ability is still there re this one and provided Ballesteros is anywhere near being on form really ought to go close today off such a low rating. The Fahey barn are amongst the winners (9 in the past fortnight) so theres no worries re trainer form and I would recommend an each-way tickle at current quotes of 16/1. Captain George (6.00 Chepstow) – All eyes will be on the bigger meetings today but don’t miss this one who makes the journey from Wiltshire into the Welsh wilderness. Barned with James Fanshawe, last term, he was once rated 76 but races off just 62 in this very weak apprentices’ affair. Will be much more suited by the step up to 12 furlongs and he should go very close off today’s perch against these opponents. The stable of Michael Blake are in outstanding form (3 of the barns last 6 runners have won) whilst so is his fledgling jockey, Mitch Godwin, who has won on 2 out of his last 5 rides. Good luck all.
The interesting one for me on the card would be Gatepost (8.45). He’s rather like his stablemate Ballesteros (who I really like at York today) in that he hasn’t won for ages but as a result has slipped to an attractive perch – 80, whilst he peaked on 107 back in ’11. Gatepost was something of an eyecatcher last time and should certainly be up to going very,very close, if in the right frame of mind, later on this evening. However, I must say that current quotes of 11/4 re him are not very appealing.
York 2.20 Ravenhoe @ 9/2 Brocklesby winner who also landed conditions event at Newcastle in April; good second over C&D in May and although only in midfield at Royal Ascot last time, he didn't run too badly (Finished ahead of todays favourite Wedge) ; this company less demanding and no surprise to see Johnstons first string feature prominently. York 2.55 Intercetion @ 3/1 Looked a group horse in the making destroying the field in the Wokingham last month - was expecting a very short price today so will be investing heavily @ 3s. Ascot 2.30 Repeat Offender @ 33/1 G Lee replaces Liam Jones in the saddle. Has 4l to make up on Dream Island, put has an 8lb pull with that rival, better jockey and 33s looks a massive price!!
A couple for me at hq the Falmouth looks a hot race but I'm going with Arabian queen, her mum always ran well at Newmarket. Foxtrot Romeo has been frustrating for me but Moore is up top so might eek out that bit of improvement today anyway good luck.
