This is looking distinctly like a Remy type situation. We are less than a month away from 1st game of season and I cannot begin to think who will play up front and what our starting eleven would be. Unless Austin signs for another club by Friday week (17th) he stays otherwise we have no time to re-invest the money. We need strikers ,centre backs and a left back as a minimum. Even Ciftci at £1.5 wouldn't have been bad as back up.

I'm not sure it's as desperate as you think, we've invested money in Sebastian Polter, and both Jamie Mackie and JET can play up front.

Granted they're not the same calibre as Austin but I wouldn't say we're anywhere near as stuffed as we were with the Remy scenario.

As a back-up? He'd score goals in this league and at 23 would have been a decent shout at the reported £1.5 Mil.

That's the whole point Bushbaby. For 1.5 he would score more than anyone on our books and probably more than anyone we eventually buy for 10.5m.
Echoes of starting the season un-prepared and ,at best, with players joining the week before and that's lack or preparation big time. Again, we knew the minute we were relegated that we needed a new striker. I don't class JET, Mackie or Polter quite the 20 goal man we need.

Jet and Polter will score goals I'm going to put 50 squid on both of them scoring more than 10 goals each as a minimum next season league only . Wonder what odds will be May have a look .

Both Austin and Phillips have tweeted they're off to Italy with the team, so that's a positive if they're staying...

25 goals in 68 games for Dundee.

ONLY 1 GOAL IN THREE SEASONS and 37 appearances before that!!!

Seems clear your overstating how much better this guy is than Polter, JET and even Mackie. Polter especially looks a far better buy on paper as has played and scored more at a better standard.

Austin deal will most likely be done this month, and if it isn't even one week before the deadline is fine. Most deals happen in last 2 weeks

You never know, deals might not be done - hardly likely, I know - but I think that is a much better situation than that of the petulant Sterling who refuses to go on the pre-season tour with Liverpool.

They might let us have Mutch back!!!!!

Bannon looked a useful player for Villa a few seasons ago but seems to have drifted a bit......

No need for anymore midfieders, we just need a defender or 2 especially now if Caulker is off........

I'm not sure Charlie is in any hurry to depart, he's showing no signs of being desperate to get away. He'd be a good partner for Polter.

Can't really expect Charlie to make a decision when we've only had one official (and derogatory) bid from Leicester. The rest ie Newcastle, Palace, Liverpool, W Ham etc just paper talk.

If I were him, I'd be waiting for an offer from a club that is almost certainly going to provide top flight football for the next few years. If he goes to a low end premier league club he'll be risking relegation again, and having scored as many as he did, surely he has earnt the right to play for a club aiming for at least the top half.
