Lille line up free transfer swoop for QPR defender Armand Traore By talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) | Thursday, July 9, 2015 please log in to view this image Digsby IM, Email, and Social Networks in one easy to use application! http://digsby.com Lille are lining up a move for former Arsenal and Juventus left-back Armand Traore, who is entering the final year of his QPR contract. The 25-year-old made 16 Premier League appearances last season as the Hoops were relegated from England's top-flight. And reports in France have suggested he could be allowed to leave for free this summer, despite being under contract until this time next year. Now Lille are hopeful of striking a deal for the left-back who has never played professional football in France, despite being born in Paris. Traore came through the ranks at Arsenal, and spent time on loan at Portsmouth and Juve before moving permanently to QPR in 2011. He has gone on to make a total of 93 appearances for the west London club, scoring two goals. No great loss though, to give credit to him, he was one of the few that put in some sort of effort last season at the Old Trafford debacle. And don't forget the cross for Mackie's flying headed goal against City too!
Always thought he looked like he'd forgotten that that he was a footballer. Plenty of pace and occasionally fluked a good cross in (as per RTID's comment above) but with the ball at his feet I always got the feeling that he was more likely to trip over the ball than pass it to a team mate. Not one that'll be missed..
Best of luck Armand, we won't miss him but as Rangers Till I Die mentioned....the run and cross against Man City was memorable.
I initially had no interest in opening this thread until I thought "wait... who the **** wants him in their squad?!"
Have some respect lads. After Hill and Faurlin he's our longest serving senior player (though we seem to have some kids who must need hormone therapy they've been in the development squad so long). My abiding memory will be not the 2 or 3 great crosses in 5 years, but the much more frequent standing around counting clouds like a stunned mullet.
Don't know why he's always described as a left back as he's one of the worst defenders I've seen, at best he's a wing back or left midfielder - either way won't be too sad to see him go.
When he came on against villa in the 3-3, he gave us some attacking pace down the left and looked sharp. All to infrequent though. Good luck armand.
I think he's a better left back than Yun but suffers concentration lapses. Would still prefer him to stay to Yun, and we'll need to replace if he goes.
That in a nutshell sums up so many of our players, useless most of the time but one memorable moment...
Joke of a person and joke of a footballer. If he loses one more brain cell he'll be considered dead medically.
