I think we should get him as soon as the Toby thing falls through.

I never thought I would say this- but the sooner Schneiderlin leaves the better- so we can get Clasie in to replace him and get him integrated into the team for our Europa League qualies. I certainly don't want another drawn out transfer saga. If we assume Schneiderlin is going to leave and it looks like a certainty then sooner rather than later would be better for everyone. Can't wait to see our new look line-up for next season.

We have the money. Move on this now, before someone else does.

If we want him I would be staggered if we hadn't already moved for him. I know it makes a good conspiracy theory that Les Reed is a buffoon who only does things when people on the internet tell him to but I suspect we're ahead of the game (assuming we want him). That is not, however, to say that we'll get him as we may not be the only team to have noticed him.

Not really certain why we're operating a one in, one out policy. Are we suddenly skint?

    Sign him up already!

I'm sure we have had plenty of contact with them. But per Beefy, those discussions don't appear to have resulted in us agreeing a fee; we should perhaps move on to that stage now, irrespective of the state of Morgan's transfer.

Indeed. I'm all for prudence and financial stability, but we just earned £75M minimum from TV takings this last season. More for next season. Get him in, get the total player businesses done and then let Morgan go and make ManU pay as close to top whack as possible. They're not exactly short of funds.

I can't see how we are skint, but it is a strange policy?

As it's possible other clubs are monitoring what we do because of our reputation for doing good business (and particularly with Mitchell and Pochettino having recently moved to Spurs and presumably being aware to some extent of our targets) I'd suggest moving quickly on all deals would be a good idea.

We may have a deal set in place ready for when Morgan goes? Yes we have been talking but I haven't a clue how they went on. Where as Vilhena will join next season imo.

When do we play Feyernoord. There maybe a thought that it would be best to play that before dipping into their squad.

I can't imagine a nice warm welcome for that game if we've pinched their best player.

I'm just bemused that we would structure it that way...there's little to be gained save for, I guess, a slight public relations boost from softening the blow of Morgan's transfer.

Maybe Clasie doesn't want to come here to be back up to Schneiderlin, so wants some assurances Schneiderlin is going. Or maybe he just wants to think it over. Or maybe Saints also have other targets in mind and are waiting to see how things shake out.

Or maybe Feyenoord isn't sure what they want to do yet, and haven't given us permission to talk to Clasie or are asking for an exorbitant fee. I mean, if we want one in before we let one go, why would they be any different?

It's not like you just drive over to Midfielders R' Us and go "I'll take a promising young midfielder with world class potential for 15m. Home delivery by 3pm, Thanks."

Everyone is waiting for the first dominoes to fall, which will take forever... but then things happen in a hurry. No one ever plans to be sweating it out as deadline day approaches, but that's how things work out anyway. Happens every deadline day, not just in Premier League, but all over the world, and in every sport. Just the nature of business negotiations... no one likes to move until they have to.
