I'm depressed now.

And I'm beginning to really hate spurs.

Please god, just grant me this one prayer. Let us beat that horrible bunch of bastards home and away this season.

 

Next question is how much are we going to get from AM, they may renege on the agreement yet?

 

I watched most of our matches, last season, and good as Toby was, I could never grasp the "hero worship" status bestowed on him, by so many.
Fonte was better than him, as shown by his Player of the Season award.
So, sad as it is, that he hasn't signed for us, my main concerns about him not signing for us are:
1) We only have a few weeks to settle the defence before the season starts (although I am confident Yoshida will do a good job- he is better than many rate him). New GK, new RB and reserve/new LB, with maybe no Schneiderlin to shield them, will need time to gel.
2) Yet another player is using us as a stepping stone to "bigger" teams. TBH, with our lack of history, re appearing in Europe and cup finals, let alone winning things, this is likely to happen every summer, now that we have reached a good level.
3) The transfer window is still young - can we put out a rumour that Mane has a dodgy knee/ankle/hamstring, all the above, to stop a speculative bid unsettling him?

 

About as much as the IMF is going to get from Greece probably.

Oh Spurs, I really really really dislike them. Worst fans I've ever met, just seemed to happen that way for me.

 

Yeah. Good man. Onwards.

 

The fact we missed out on him is of course annoying, will be very hard to replace but we've done it before and will do it again. It's just the fact he has gone to spurs! Can't stand them but also they are rivals. Also frustrating that we probably would have got our man should we have offered 14m at the start but we will never know the full details. Onwards and upwards.

 

Hmm, he was a good bloke was Toby. Shame.

Painful to see, but I can't dislike him for his decision. He is a world class defender and the most difficult task of the summer is finding a replacement that is nearly as good as him.

 

We still had a good defence when he was not playing, so I was really never concerned if he came back or not. It is a shame, but I am sure we can if not match , but improve on last season!

 

Very proud to be a Tottenham player.....Southampton? Meh.

No matter how much we like them, how we admire them, you have to remember footballers, in general, are utter pricks.

 

****! Gutted, really. Fantastic value at anything <£15M & I feel we've messed up.

 

Can we please sign a CB who is a threat in the other box please?! Obviously s good defender too but JWP's delivery would be eaten up by the likes of Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic were they on the end of it
