SWANS fans are being urged to sign up and get their parking needs sorted before the season kicks off.

Swansea Council is offering season tickets at its Park and Ride site in Landore, with a discount for those who pay before July 20.

It is hoped the scheme will ease traffic problems for residents living near the ground. Last season, traffic wardens targeted illegally parked cars on several match days and will do so again this year.

For £99, supporters can buy a pass that secures parking for all home Premier League fixtures and means they will be parked legally.

Expect more Fans to pay a lot more with fines for illegally parking this season. the council will be out in force booking everyone and anyone........they dont miss a trick in exploiting the fans.....shameful...

Well I think it's a good idea myself, but I won't use it as I can't go to all home games for various reasons. Plus as I enjoy a few pints I get the missus to pick me up. I normally get a lift to the Liberty by someone.

I have a parking space within the stadium, in the North car park, this costs me £210 per season and covers all swansea City matches. I see the offer for parking in a council owned site (opposite park and ride) at £99 for all home matches as good value personally. It works out at £5-21p per match which is less than you pay in most of the city centre car parks, and a guaranteed parking space to boot.

totally disagree That patch of ground owned by the council should be used for parking on match days for free. Why rip off fans all the time with extra cost to watch the swans......

If that's the case then all parking should be free, not just football supporters surely.

yes...as long as its legally parked. im fed up of the councils underhanded way they book people that are legally parked and not obstructing anyone....and they can park anywhere and nobody fines them.....you pay your tax and insurance and that should be enough.....

Well you are not going to get free parking Dai unless you do what I do on occasion. And that is park in retail car park nearby and play the system of appeal the fake parking ticket you get by the parking companies.

These fake tickets are easily beaten if you know what you are doing, go to Pepipoo.com and learn about these fake fines, and how the companies who issue them are a bunch scammers.

Well like it or not I can fully 100% guarantee you that the Plarsmarl,Landore,Brynhyfryd and Manselton areas will be patrolled vigourously by parking wardens.Park illegally at your own risk.

You can park in shorts at £5 per game, which is almost as close and cheaper. I have to do this as my son plays football at 12.45 and almost impossible to find a parking space that late. Whilst it would be nice to be able to park for free, I think they are over charging in that they are charging more than local businesses.

Its a comparative price ,as everywhere else charges a fiver including Pentrehafod school. However what is unacceptable is the council charging £15 to park at the REC for the Airshow this weekend. Now that is ripping people off!!!

The council dont miss a trick of ripping anyone other than themselves off.......If you park your car and its not hindering anyone else then why should you pay for that....you pay your road tax.....£5 , £15 or 5p is a diabolical liberty.

It's true you can park in places like shorts for £5 but is your parking slot gauranteed. The advantage of the council parking priority scheme is that you can turn up at 10 to 3 and you'll still have guaranteed parking.

Dai the only way people will be booked is by a Civil Enforcement Officer, so people on foot issuing Penalty Charge Notices, which can be appealed independently of the council. If you cause an obstruction though then the police can book you with a Fixed Penalty Notice, those are best paid immediately as the only appeal is through the magistrates court, most people lose there and it can cost hundreds.

If a vehicle is clamped or towed then it's going to cost you a fair whack to get your vehicle back, but you should always appeal as the worst that can happen is you won't get your money back.

In all cases though if you go to Pepipoo.com they can help you for free and they have good appeal rate at council tickets.
