Have recommended that Allam should be allowed to change our name. I can't do a link on my phone, but it's in the Sun. **** the Premier League.
**** the premier league. So glad we're shut of that pile of ****. Hopefully they will break away whilst we're not in it.
If the Premier League were to make a recommendation, it'd have been back in May when everyone else did, and it'd have been taken into account by the membership committee, who evidently felt that the arguments put forward by others were more compelling, and recommended the name not be changed.
Anyone know when we can expect a decision. The HDM article a while back said the Allam's had asked the FA to postpone the decision to the end of the season, but that was weeks ago now. The new season (well friendlies) start next Friday!
I'm dubious about this - even if some of the Humberside guys are reporting it as genuine. Who at the Premier League exactly? Scudamore is on record as being opposed - and he is really the only mouth piece - wouldn't a decision like this have to go through a committee? And if so - surely that would have broken in the media back when we were in the PL and people actually gave a **** about us - it wouldn't have leaked out in the middle of the silly season in the Sun. Also - how has the PL's attitude been changed? Given that according to Allam, this is merely a resubmission of the application of 2014, it is very dubious to hold two opposing viewpoints of the same material. Finally - does it matter? Most of the suggestions were that if this support was given, it was last month - that must have been before the evaluation board rejected the name change. The PL would have been one of the interested parties at that stage - just as the fans, ERCFA etc. They still opted to reject the name change. Now it is down to the FA to vote on their own panel's decision. I'm calling bollocks on this.
