    devonFRATTONiser 606

I lived in Plymouth (in Devon) for 25 years
Although I'm a Pompey supporter, I enjoy friendly banter as well as proper football discussion with Saints fans, so one could say that I 'frattonise' with our biggest rivals. The FRATTON part of frattoniser is in capitals to give the word double usage, with Fratton Park being the home of Portsmouth FC! The 606 is simply a suffix added to my name on 606.

The ShelfSide part is in reference to our famous East Stand where I park myself for home games, the Spur bit is obviously relating to my team!<ok>

The Squiggler was the name I used on BBC 606.

Cardinal Wolsey - I fancied a change of username as I'd been using 'The Squiggler' for a few years. I was going through a box set of 'The Tudors' at the time, so he was fresh in my mind. I also thought I might throw in the occasional biblical quote where appropriate, but in reality I couldn't be arsed looking them up.

Michiel de Ruyter - Before I sat my state Dutch exam a few years ago, my teacher told the class that one of the common questions in the written exam was to write an essay about any famous Dutch person of your choice. My original choice was Prince William of Orange, but there was too much information to summarise in the time available, so I prepared an essay on Michiel de Ruyter instead. In the event, the bloody question never came up anyway. <grr>
