If it weren't for Stoute's disappointing run with Dannyday today, I would have said Provenance was a baker for tomorrow but in the circumstances, maybe 6/4 is too short; So I'll keep well away.
Elliott's absolutely lording it up today. 7 winners. He has one absolutely super chance tomorrow in a very tasty novice chase at Wexford. Wexford 7.20 THE GAME CHANGER 7/4 NAP NAP NAP Beat a very good horse of Jessie's the last day and is re opposed by the Mullins/Walsh combo Upazo. I think this lads going to be much too good for them by a long way and even at skimpy odds I reckon he's a very good bet. I think he's an odds on shot, let's see!
Debating whether to go to the races tomorrow there beefy I've had a lot of racing the past fortnight so I might sit it out with the feet up and some nice cups of coffee. Summer jumping on quick ground around Wexford usually isn't the best spectacle. Will have a look through the cards now to see what the craic is.
Any rain forecast STH, not a fan of summer ground for jumpers either. Hope it's well watered anyway, least it's not a mixed card so they've no reason not to leave the taps turned on for a good while
No it's been dry all week and it's to be sunny with slight chance of a shower or two tomorrow. They have been watering so hopefully they will have it good and safe anyway, Wexford can be lethal at times in the summer for jumping.
Have to say I agree this lad should win. I'm a big fan of Rock The World and was on him when your lad turned him over at Roscommon last time out and was very impressed with how he jumped and travelled. Plenty of good pots to be got with him throughout the summer. I suppose he will end up at Galway possibly?
Elliott and Galway go pretty well so he could go alright. One of the (many) reasons I'd usually avoid Irish handicap stuff now is with Galway round the corner, a few might, ahem, 'sacrifice' a race or two this time of year to get a nice mark! In a nutshell that's why I generally avoid handicaps altogether!!!
800 Hayd- Jayjinski 5/4 810 Belles- Rio Treasure 8/11 900 Hayd- Decorated Knight 4/6 Pays 6.47/1 for the treble. Happy Friday
All The Way Home 6/1 Wexford 8.20 Liz Doyle the local lass loves to have a winner at Bettyville and All The Way Home rates a solid chance having scored here last time out on Good ground also. Raised a further 5 lb for that effort to 100 could possibly find her out but receiving weight from what I deem to be her two main rivals in The Mooch and Close Review I think she can gain another victory on "home" soil. Perhaps each way if you are of that perusal. Good luck all as usual.
Having taken a brief look at Friday’s cards, all I can say at this point is that, whilst unfortunately Wooly is out of pocket on tickets for Sandown, I do not think that I would be bothering to make the journey if I lived ten miles from the track rather than 200. The other flat cards look like typical ‘dead Friday’ meetings as well, so I might have to wait until Saturday to lose some money!
Damn, I missed Victoria tonight. Did anyone see her? If not, never mind - feast your eyes on this. Don't you ever wish you were a horse?
Don't often post but having a good run of late and thought I'd share some thoughts on the 240 Newton Abbott. Initially I was going to get involved on the favourite, At First Light. Last time out win seems fairly solid form, price seems fair (2/1), and was going to get involved with a fairly hefty win bet. However, digging deeper into the race I think I'd rather play MAID OF TUSCANY each way (12/1). Obvious negatives are that she is a 17 race maiden and there wouldn't seem to be any excuses for a poor run in a class 5 last time out. However, she's only been beaten a few lengths in class 2 and 3 events in the past, form lines put her a few lengths ahead of the second favourite Spin Cast, and she's been staying on in a couple of races so the slight extra yardage might mean she gives the favourite something to think about. Fehily on board also a positive. Good luck if you dabble
In the maiden hurdle at 3.10 in Newton Abbott there's an interesting runner in the shape of I'llhavealook 22/1 making his racecourse bow at the ripe age of 10. He has been doing well in the P2P scene and his latest effort saw him hose up by 17 lengths. I don't know much about the trainer Mrs K Stephens but she must have thought something of this lad and at 22/1 I will take a chance he can run a place in a weak looking maiden where I'llhavealook is less exposed than many of his rivals.
Race is after being decimated with non runners. High winds down this way today as well as warm so it's too fast for many. Into odds on now with 3 still standing to run.
Whats our thoughts on Exchequer in the 335 today lads? I have a tasty treble going on to it and wondered if its worth looking at cashing out or letting it run?
