I don't agree about the Cold War but there's some truth in the rest. Point is, if Bodanki somehow manages to destroy religion, it won't stop war and needless losses.

No it won't, not all war is about religion.
It will however, remove the bullshit justification that a lot of war mongerers use in committing atrocities in said wars.

Also US multinationals and banks funded both sides of the Vietnam war. Guatemala never even had diplomatic relations with Russia, yet the US invaded over "communism"when really United fruit Corp were the prime mover behind that invasion, pesky nationals nationalising their own land and resources how dare they.

It was just an excuse mate, yes there were issues in the Zone of influence the allies agreed to with Stalin in Europe like Bulgaria and so on. Chinese communism had nothing to do with Russia either.

Cuba was a complete lie, the US started a terrorism war there and the bay of pigs was caried out by multinationals without Kennedy's approval.
Before Castro won in Cuba, 40% of the country's land mass was bought up by US corps from the dictator they backed. Castro reduced this to less than 5%. He had to be killed. The US caused the missile crysis but history says it was the other way around, that is 100% a fabrication

I studied the Cold War as part of my degree so probably have a less jaundiced view [can I say that?]

The US was terrified of communism taking hold. Ever heard of the Hollywood blacklist. Communism was common amongst actors, playwrights, poets etc.- it crossed race lines when seemingly nothing else could. Blacks embraced it because communism is colour blind and so was very appealing.

It's not just about war though.
How much of the planets effort's AREN'T going into scientific advancement because of religion.
It really is what we need to be focusing on.
Curing diseases, faster than light travel, technological advancements.
How much are all these being hindered by the people insisting that a Sky god will save us from damnation.

We know a good portion of the bible is bullshit, how can people continue to attribute any credibility to it?
We know the Earth is older than 6000 years, we know that Jesus resurrecting is a physical impossibility, we know that a woman cannot get knocked up by a deity, we know a guy cannot summon swarms of locusts or part an ocean with his hands.......so Why, oh ****ing Why do continue to even acknowledge this book as anything but a complete farce?

It will simply be replaced by another bullshit justification though. If religion didnt exist in the middle-east they would still be burning each other down over territory.

But most of the segregation in the middle east is DUE to religious differences, sonis and Shi'ites etc
Without that there would be no EACH OTHER, they would be one people.
Or damn site closer to one people than they are now.

Actually the biggest segregation there, is due to tribalism. All across the middle-east and right across afghanistan and the subcontinent. It pre-dates islam and is still a bigger contributor to regional conflicts than religion. It's pretty fcked up region tbh <laugh>

    You complete melt.
You trying to tell me that religious oppression has never halted technological advancement? Because.......<doh> Please do some research!!!!
And still doesn't to this day?

How many people are there in the Middle East?
How many of them could be working on scientific studies? or heck doing anything even remotely resembling helpful to the human race?
How many of them aren't because they are too busy bombing each other over stupid ****ing religious differences?

So tell me, what are the primary catalysts for these tribes? Why were they formed? and why do they oppose each other?

    You are getting ridiculous now.

Some of the greatest scientific advancements have been achieved by people of all religions and none.
Your next sweeping statement that somehow every man, woman and child across the middle east is doing fck all with their lives just bcos of religion only shows your narrow mindedness. The vast majority are doing the same jobs we are - doctors, teachers, scientists; all getting on with their lives. I have no particular affiliation to religion. But you need to get a grip. Your angry rants reflect your own problems tbh. Live at and let live <ok>

Religion is the root cause of many wars, conflicts, sectarian divides and bigotry across the globe, always has been and unless the day dawns when everyone turns their collective backs on their false gods, then it always will.

The 'who killed more' discussion is facile, the simple fact is that religion is responsible for death and suffering all over the planet.

Not at all. It would help if you read the whole thing....like the third sentence where I said tribalism pre-dates islam. Tribes in the middle-east, afghanistan and the sub-continent are created through generations of regional and cultural community differences. They cross (and often don't recognise) national boundaries. They are literally centuries old and in most cases religion came after. Ofcourse many adopted religion but their tribalism drives territory and links/differemces to each other.

    Exactly!

And Treble, to a majority of the middle east, religion IS their lives.
Its the reason they get up in the morning, the reason they go to work, and for a lot of them, the reason they strap that Klashnikov to their backs each day.

Again, its not that they are ALL doing nothing with their lives, its that their lives are being hindered and disrupted by constant invasions, explosions, terrorist attacks and other bull ****.
And a huge factor in all of this is intolerance of religious differences.

I am not going to try to force my beliefs on to other people, but I am damn sure not going to just sit there and say that it is doing more good than harm.

I see no one has piped up to defend the bullshit I said about the bible. Thats because it is indefensible.
Someone please explain to me how the mass indoctrination, on a global scale, of a majority of the worlds population, in believing complete and utter fallacies based on books that pre date any form of science or industrial civilisation, by people who understood next to nothing about the sciences (Biology, Astronomy, physics) can EVER lead us to a new age in enlightenment?
All it will do is hinder, destroy, encourage hatred and segregation, and lead to death.
