It is 1.00pm here in Oz, 4.00am in Hull, and in about three hours our beloved Moderator "originallambrettaman" will start to pound the keys of his PC as he begins his final assault on 50,000 posts on these boards. Yesterday he made a staggering 94 posts to reach 49,934 - a mere 66 (the Devils Number) posts short but will no doubt reach his goal (forgive the pun) today. (He told me he has nothing to do for a few days hence the enormous amount of posts). We all know he has 'internet addiction disorder' but c'mon, some of you are playing Football Manager 16 hours a day taking Bethnal Green united out of the Conference, through the leagues to Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League Cups all in one season so don't criticize. Love him or hate him (he can be very caustic at times) but you could not criticize his dedication to Hull City and the 'not606' boards in general (he visits many other boards too and, to his shame, was on the White Sh i te boards yesterday). I had thought of waiting until his 49,999th post and then replying by calling him a stupid old F-bomb C-bomb so that his 50,000th post would be memorable to me in that he would tell me to eff off and hoped that all my clocks would turn into time bombs and explode at the same time - but I thought better of it and am sure he has something suitable prepared. Have a great day OLM in the knowledge that though I might not be posting I will most certainly be watching when you achieve this magnificent target in the hope that it is something memorable for you instead of a caustic two word reply to someone. I have a cold beer ready to celebrate with you. please log in to view this image
I'd also like to join Roo and thank OLM for his many contributions to the board, without which it would be a much less interesting place for us ex-pats. Apart from his insights into what is going on with the team and the Club in general I find his comments on the history and development of Hull in the fifty years since I left particularly interesting. Keep up the post rate OLM...you invariably have something relevant to say and I and am sure many others like myself greatly appreciate your taking the time to inform us.
OLM seems to have many privileged contacts on various subjects and especially Hull City AFC he updates transfer news quite often and although he has his distractors, who hasn't, he contribution puts many teams whole boards contributions in the shade. Some of the pictures he posts of old Hull, some dating back to my childhood days, I wholeheartedly welcome and when we natter about old Hull, the latest being night clubs and stuff, again he has some interesting antidotes, although his choice of music is not my genre. So I agree with the 'congratulations' (not the Cliff Richard song of the same name by the way) I will continue to annoy him with my insistence that change in the City of Hull is, at best, tepid compared to other Northern cities of a similar size. I do not know anything about the man other than what I read on these threads but his views are always welcome even though he irritates the hell out of some of our posters. I think the Hull City for forum would be a poorer place without his contributions other boards seem to have their own OLM's so all I have to say now is I hope that cheque is in the post OLM and here's to the next 50,000 posts.
Thanks Tuck - duly edited, but where is he? It's almost 8.00am your time and he's usually on the boards well before now - you don't think he might be sat in front of his PC sobbing his heart out after reading all the compliments made about him do you? (That was a joke OLM)
I don't know OLM (as far as I am aware) but he is a top guy on here. I especially love the old pictures of Hull he keeps digging up. Cheers OLM
Sorry to interrupt this mass rimming of OLMs arse, but, he has the Internet. Mostly Twitter in fact, with some Facebook. He's no more ITK than anyone else on here he's just a Twitter addict. He acknowledges that but other people seem to like ****ing over his alleged insider knowledge which he's not said he has. So stop saying it please. That said even I appreciate this copy pasting from other places, means this has ended up a decent place for news. I rarely bother with any other sites now tbh. He is a ****, but he's our **** and despite appearances I do like the old ****er.
I'm flattered, thanks, my secretary is back from her holidays today, so I might actually have to do some work, but I'll see what I can do.
i'd raise a can of red stripe crucial brew in his honour if only you could still buy it, it was the 80's, and plonkers was still open in hessle !! here's to you sir
OLM is a good person to follow regarding Hull City since the 606 days, even if he can fly off the handle at times!
As the Liverpool board has now overtaken City as the busiest on here, I'd like to ask OLM to pull his finger out and post more (we are already 3,000 down on them!). Quite clearly it is all his fault.
Depends how you look at it, as we have created way more threads, so clearly we have more to talk about and are able to express our feelings in less posts - unlike scousers, who probably post 'calm down' several times before giving their opinion.
