Nice pictures on the offish of the players returning to training and pre season, seems the atmosphere is markedly better. I've had a good feeling all since last season finished, this only strengthen those feelings. The recruitment of both playing and coaching personnel seems astute, and especially the appointment of Lee Hoos looks inspiring. Slowly but surely we're getting our Rangers back. I'll keep saying it until I get a reason otherwise.
A very good read indeed. If all true, then the future may be much brighter... Here's to the new season, and late night's streaming. Have only just got used to not being awake most Saturday nights. Any Aussies know who is televising Championship this year? I
Thanks nines. Sounds like they are saying the right things. Let's hope they can back it up. Think we will have a hard season but then we can look forward to better times. I went to Wren until Nov 1970.
Excellent read It made me feel great to read sense at last . Really important to get the clubs culture and ID back Some fans will have trouble getting used to not knowing the players and maybe the results going south and we will see these call for CR head after 5 matches but these fans will lose interest anyway QPR needs to restore itself then add in the money then we can all dream again
I thought that when I read what Ramsey said about new signings .... "... everybody will be on their Sunday best and telling you the right things before you sign them, but you don’t know how they’ll react afterwards." Exactly the same with this. Talk is easy when you are telling people what they want to hear. Proof of the pudding is in the eating. I'll reserve judgement until Christmas at the earliest.
Thanks Nines - a very informative read. Re: "Especially after some bloke who stayed in the team hotel before the Leicester game wrote a 'tell all' thread giving out unsolicited information about the club. Most of which has subsequently been correct." Watch your back mate! Paulo Sousa's sacked as Queens Park Rangers manager Queens Park Rangers have dismissed Paulo Sousa after less than five months as manager. " Presenter: Another man who had his head nailed to the floor was Stig O' Tracey. Cut to another younger more cheerful man on sofa. Interviewer: Stig, I've been told Dinsdale Piranha nailed your head to the floor. Stig: No, no. Never, never. He was a smashing bloke. He used to give his mother flowers and that. He was like a brother to me. Interviewer But the police have film of Dinsdale actually nailing your head to the floor. Stig: Oh yeah, well - he did that, yeah. Interviewer Why? Stig: Well he had to, didn't he? I mean, be fair, there was nothing else he could do. I mean, I had transgressed the unwritten law. Interviewer What had you done? Stig: Er... Well he never told me that. But he gave me his word that it was the case, and that's good enough for me with old Dinsy. I mean, he didn't want to nail my head to the floor. I had to insist. He wanted to let me off. There's nothing Dinsdale wouldn't do for you. Interviewer And you don't bear him any grudge? Stig: A grudge! Old Dinsy? He was a real darling. please log in to view this image On shaky ground: Paulo Sousa looks to set to pay the price for QPR's failure to reach the play-offs Photo: GETTY IMAGES By Sandy Macaskill 6:00AM BST 09 Apr 2009 The Championship club’s board rubber-stamped the decision yesterday after taking legal advice over claims the Portuguese had “divulged highly confidential and sensitive material”, believed to relate to Dexter Blackstock’s loan move to Nottingham Forest. Gareth Ainsworth, who was installed as caretaker manager after Iain Dowie was sacked last year, will stand in for the final five games of the season. Pressure had been building on Sousa, the former Juventus and Inter Milan midfielder, because of his failure to fulfil specific directives, such as securing the club a position in the play-offs. The team have managed just seven wins from 26 games, taking them to a mid-table position seven points outside the play-off zone. However, the club have stated that their primary reason for parting company with the 38-year-old is his decision to reveal to the media the nature of Blackstock’s recent loan move to Forest. Sousa told how he was informed of the decision to send the striker on loan by Gianni Paladini, the sporting director, and only after the deal had been finalised. His assistant, Bruno Oliviera, was sacked on Monday, but after meetings on Wednesday, the board decided that Sousa’s position was no longer tenable. The board will now seek their third manager this season alone, and their fifth overall since assuming control of the club in 2007. Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson, Bristol City’s Gary Johnson and former Blackburn manager Paul Ince are possible targets. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...as-sacked-as-Queens-Park-Rangers-manager.html
The really cool thing about this is that if you click on the link in the tweet it brings you back to the thread you are already looking at. I've done it about 20 times and still find it hugely impressive, but then again I am easily pleased.
Thank you 999's & I havn't noticed mac get it up on Report yet! My only criticism is that it would appear that it has taken the club three weeks to approve publishing the minutes. Unless this was due to Clive deciding to have a holiday rather than producing them!
Clive was on holiday and Neil was moving house, hence the delay Terry. The club received the minutes on Tuesday and they were approved just before I posted them. I was beginning to wonder about them too. They're done and dusted in 48 hours normally. Just goes to show that we all have busy and normal lives away from the forums.
Cheers 999's. I thought Clive being selfish was probably the reason for the delay! Really I suppose I was interested due to the past when the club could take six weeks to approve minutes & then only by management that had not been present at the meeting! This was what happened for the final osc meeting!
Hi all, long time ..... I’d just like to thank Nines for very generously offering me the Not606 seat at this meeting. It was accidentally sent to me instead and I cheekily said that I’d love to go if he couldn’t make it when I forwarded it on to him. Fortunately the media boys were flexible enough to allow us both to attend as a couple of others couldn’t make it. In modern day QPR vernacular, clearly a good egg. Thanks Rich, see you next season.
I will have you know that if Roller WAS late to arrive, this would have been solely due to meeting Ian Taylor in Nando's. Or having a proper pint before being given a plastic beer at the meeting! Besides, when was he last late for a game? He would have missed my discussions with the scarf seller's so he has left the pub in plenty of time for kick off!
