    Hello everyone,

How are we all? It's been a while since I posted on here! Thought I'd better get my act together as the new season approaches!

So what do we all think of the signings we have made so far?

    Here's my opinion on them:

Lee Erwin - This guys excites me! I've watched his goals on YouTube and he reminds me of Beckford back in the day. Its his height, pace and build that makes me compare him to Beckford. He also has that raw talent feel about him. Hopefully he'll bag us a few, the Scots always do well for Leeds!

Charlie Horton - Really hard to say much on this one as he hasn't really played much first team football. He has played for his country at under 23 so that can only be a plus. I'd imagine we won't see much of Horton because we already have our number 1.

Sol Bamba - We all know how good Bamba can be, we seen it last season! The only question is who partners him at the back?

Chris Wood - I'm not writing this lad off before he puts a Leeds shirt on but I do have to question his price tag... On the other hand he seems to have a good record in the championship although never really settled at one team. The type of striker he is certainly excites me, I never got why we got rid of Matt Smith.

Rosler has stated we need 2/3 more players to be able to play is style of football. I can only imagine these players will be wingers and we're rumoured to be in for a couple! I really can't wait to see some wingers back in the team, its been far too long!

If we do buy some wingers does that mean Erwin will be second choice to Wood? Wood is clearly the centre forward but Erwin could potentially play out wide...

All in all I'm really happy with the signings so far and the club finally seems stable! Adam Pearson is a hero!

PS. anyone use Bremner suite before and during games? I've moved my season ticket over to the west stand so would be great to grab a beer if any of you sit in there...

    Welcome back fella.

    Where you been?

Really happy with signings so far. We need a couple more recognizable names to sign.

Be great if one was a big signing

    Hey mate,

I've been busy as hell trying to get my business to pickup :) Excited to get back into Leeds for a bit of a break from it.

Yeah I agree a big name signing would be great. Someone like Barton maybe. Moore at CB would be great too!

Wood at £2m is cheap if you think we got £1m for Smith, £11m for Ross, £2m for Becchio and a good comparison would be the difference between him and Jordan Rhodes who went for £8m. I think potentially we have a £4m player who with luck will become an £8m player but if not will not be worse than Becchio or even Billy Sharp who has had millions spent on him:emoticon-0103-cool:

I thought we only got £500k for Smith. And the £11m for McContract included all sorts of add ons that he/they never achieved (plus bastard Cardiff got 15% too, of course).

Feck the money thats up to the owner,
Football is so obsessed with how much people cost, how much they earn a week etc,
As its gone through the roof and a 20 year old earns more a week than a whole family live off a year,I've given up caring.
As for the signings, young promising players,
Would love us to sign barton, exactly what we need,60 I know you disagree give me one reason why footballing wise you don't want him.

Lee Erwin - Actually don't understand this signing. Not sure where he fits into our system or team, talk is he isn't an out and out striker which I think he'd be behind Wood if he was. So then maybe he could play one of the wider roles of the front 3 but then we're looking at pacey tricky wingers who I would imagine would be ahead of him. Can see the impact sub sorta role for him.

Charlie Horton - One for the future, could be a great keeper in a few years or could be terrible, no way to know. Either way a cheap deal and worth it as there has been plenty of recommendations for this lad.

Sol Bamba - Happy with this signing and would probably make him our captain dependent on who else comes in. Solid player.

Chris Wood - This signing shows intent. Fee could be a bit high but remember it is 2m rising to 3m if we get promotion. 2m is what Leicester payed for him, I'm sure the club would be more than happy to pay an extra mil for promotion. Will lead the line and certainly, without a doubt a much much more rounded player than Matt Smith. I've seen a bit of him actually for both Leicester and Millwall before that and he is very strong on the ball, good in the air and has a very powerful shot on him. Only question on him is his consistency. I think he'll really benefit from being played week-in week-out. Excited by this signing

I think footballing wise, he is exactly the player we need. Been trying to think of realistic alternatives that fits the mould of player that we need in that position and honestly coming up with no one. Obviously there would be others but they need to be recognisable and reasonably experienced (preferably with top flight experience really) to boss our young midfield (and team).

    Josh,fair comments,just one thing,
Re your comments on erwin,as being an 'impact' sub,
What is another sub then a non impact sub,
Just a terminalogy that really annoys me and not directed at you,
If a sub has no impact why sub the other player?

The reason I use the term 'impact sub' is because he is not seen as ever in the starting 11, just someone who could come off the bench.

Players that are normally on the bench are players that could've been in the starting 11 a week or few before and have dropped out because of poor form or a player coming back from injury or an academy player that isn't quite ready. To me Erwin falls in none of these categories, signed for the subs bench imo.

    Guess we'll see though.

Lacks pace and is getting slower.
Will spend 20% of games suspended.
Will completely wreck team spirit with his antics.

There are three reasons just to get us going.

Joey Barton is 32, not that old. He's never been lightning quick and therefore isn't at all reliant on it. I don't think that'd be a problem

He may get the odd suspension through the season but getting suspended from yellows doesn't bother me. Plenty before who were fan favourites at the time got lots of cards. I also doubt he'll spend more time than either Bellusci or Berardi suspended and they probably wouldn't play as much.

I couldn't comment on the last one but I'd find it hard to believe.

Truth is, all the promoted teams have been linked with a move for him as have teams looking for promotion from this league. He definitely has a hell of a lot to offer and we have very little to no reasonable experience in that midfield and no bite. I'm not saying definitely go buy this guy but if we don't we need to look at players with similar qualities and similar experience. Not sure I know of any others available in England at the moment.

Bartons averages sending off a season if I remember the figures I saw correctly? Thats not anything to factor in if thats the case.
