I'm not too bothered tbh, being 40 myself I will most likely be dead in the next 40 years at least. I would just like QPR to do well and win something again before I pass!

Well that's that then. Let's party, nothing to lose!

Why should humans be immune from extinction? Current climate change may be man made, but nature can do much worse, and will do eventually. Pandemics, wars, heat, sea levels....more likely that they will 'correct' the overall population level a bit than wipe us all out in the short term. But there is only one end result, we're doomed, doomed I tell ye!

100 years to wipe out 2 millions years of the human race? Not very likely is it. As to the food running out, that's bollox. What we MIGHT need to do is diversify.

Too f-ing right, some Mcdonalds are now open 24/7. They would not do that if the food was running low would they.....<whistle> My fave Zebu burger outlet (NOT).

    Taxi for UTR's...

Sorry Tramore. Yes knowing Mcdonalds is open 24/7 is bad news. I would love Mcdonalds to be erased out of existence!

Even the sentences don't make sense.... so we run out of resources in 2050
But we don't die out until 2100
What do we live on...fresh air and the dead bodies of our friends and neighbours.
    Zombie apocalypse I tell you....

What a load of old extinction.
Sadly once again I would take what Prof Fenner says with a large pinch. Whats more important is that the article is from June 2010 and Frank died Nov 2010......<yikes>

These questions need to be answered

Is this the work of the CIA?
Was he :emoticon-0127-lipss for saying too much?
Why was the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) involved in the report?
Does being Australian point to him having too much Kangaroo juice before he made these claims?
Does this also mean that we will be extinct before we move into the new Stadium?
Or was this actually a complete conspiracy <yikes>

I'm not too sure that Easter Island was the best example to substantiate or equate to Prof Fenner's claims. The Easter Islands were/are so isolated that the nearest inhabitants were over 1,200 miles away. Even with today's advancement in travel that renders them pretty remote, never mind the restrictions of the mid 1800's when the inhabitants eventually disappeared. They were just as likely to be wiped out by sexually transmitted diseases ( bought about by exploring Europeans,) natural diseases, war or cannibalism as much as any eco destruction. Maybe even a combination of the lot?

There were 2,000 - 3,000 inhabitants on the Island in 1772. There is now a population on the Island of over 6,000 that survive quite comfortably. Apparently it's not so 'Chillingly obvious*' after all.

*Evolutionary biologist Jared Diamond said the parallels between what happened on Easter Island and what is occurring today on the planet as a whole are “chillingly obvious.”

On serious note though we really do need to sort the planet out. Too much waste/pollution. :emoticon-0148-yes:
