Tomorrow's Pretty Polly looks to be the best fillies race in Europe this season. And we can get our Oaks money back on LEGATISSIMO :)

A tricky card at the curragh tomorrow with lots of shorties. I think Desert Law at 10/1 looks pretty decent in the big handicap with five places.

Really think Ribbons is the one to be on in tomorrows Pretty Polly.

The Oaks form is still a little bit up in the air and this race comes a bit soon after Epsom, especially for Legatissimo, Diamondssandrubies, and even more recent than Epsom for Pleascach, who has run in the Irish 1000 and then latterly Ascot just 10 days ago, with all having their Fifth start of the year today. (This isn't necessarily always against them- Misty For Me, Peeping Fawn, and Hanami have all gone to Epsom and then won the Pretty Polly to name the 3 most recent since 2001.)

Ribbons on the other hand made a pleasing reappearance when not knocked about in the Group 2 Middleton at York in May, keeping on quite nicely in behind a very clever, agressive ride on the strong-staying winner Secret Gesture (reopposes today) from Andrea Atzeni. I got the impression that Ribbons was handled tenderly and would come on for the run, so really should be spot on for today as there are not many Group 1 filly events to aim at for a 5 year old like this one.

Has still only had 10 starts so is very lightly raced for her age, and Fanshawe is in great form at present, with 6 wins and 9 places in June from his 30 runners.

They are due 10mm of rain overnight at the Curragh (can anyone over there vouch for the weather as we speak?) which is what Fanshawe wants as he doesn't want hard ground, so some overnight rain should put the track spot on.

At 7/1, I'll take my chance.

I wouldn't touch Legatissimo at that price, as like you say it's a very hot renewal of the Pretty Polly. There are enough dangers in there to think 13/8 is poor value. Qualify hasn't exactly done her form from Epsom any favours either:biggrin:

Well Ryan Moore has the first 5 favs going in the first 5 races at the Curragh later. Wonder how many win/get beat?
Richard Hughes has some good rides at Windsor and could get at least a treble.
But the only one I'll have a bet on today is SILVER MAN at Uttoxeter in the John Smiths Summer Cup.

Cartmel 420 claimer finian otoole takes a handy 10lbs off alderbrook lad and I am pretty sure this is one hell of a chance for him to open his win account.
Alderbrook lad beat the fav lto and terms look even better now so the 3s on offer look handsome
