Anyone know where to go with this. Basically got a car over a year ago via car craft. Liked the car and got a canny deal. I rarely use the aircon as it uses fuel and I'm a tight twat:) Anyway took it to a Ford garage for a check today they said air con doesn't work and probably hasn't for a while. Car craft went into administration a few month back. What can I do?

To be blunt, there's bugger all you can do now. If there was anyone to talk to at carcraft they would just tell you it was working when they sold the car and it's upto you to prove overwise.

You probably do not need to hear this, however If you do not run the air conditioning it can stop working, even in the winter I try to use it daily for a little while, even if it is just to clear windows. Just like you should give your central heting a blast in the summer months.

I was gonna say that earlier (that, and just try opening the windows), but just didn't have the heart.

Thanks for taking that bullet for the rest of us.

    Apologies for that @joeisonfire

I think the legal phrase is caveat emptor, buyer beware.

Seriously, sorry to hear you're in this situation, I'm just not sure there's a way out of it that's not going to cost you. I'd love to have an answer for you.

Maybe someone else on here has.

Well if they're in administration, warranty's are void simple as that. They don't have to honor any financial agreement.

Could be worse to be fair, if you don't use the air con then you're not exactly screwed if it no longer works. Maybe 2 or 3 days a year in England where it's hot enough for it to be really needed as opposed to turning up the blowers and opening the window.

Thanks for all the advice. To be fair it's just a worry when I do come to sell it.

If you part-ex it, there'll be no problem. They'll give it the once over and won't try every button and every gadget.

If you sell privately you don't have to mention anything unless directly asked. If you're asked a direct question, you have to answer honestly.

Other than that, it's caveat emptor, buyer beware. Just stand back and let them decide
