Money money money! That, and international politics.

It's a complex world out there now mate and sport, finance, trade, geo-politics and special interests are all so inter-corrupted now.

These things are like supertanker juggernauts! Once they've been set a course, there's no stopping them!

Jesuit trained, and to continue the connection: the Vatican bank is doing great business according to the finance world.

    I rather like this tweet.

    Richard Osman

I think Sepp Blatter was absolutely the right choice to lead FIFA, and anyone who disagrees, hasn't seen my new Rolex yet.

Even if Blatter isn`t personally involved directly with the bribes, I`d be very surprised if he didn`t get a cut on a `percentage to ignore` basis.

Up to the FBI to do a bit of plea bargaining now.

it seems to have gone rather quiet on the FIFA investigation over the last couple of weeks - hopefully he'll be brought in for questioning soon

Looks like he's too scared to go and present the Women's World Cup to the winners in case he gets arrested.

    Valke has bottled it too.

It was common knowledge that he wouldn't go before the next election.

The US has formally asked Switzerland to extradite the seven FIFA officials arrested in Zurich in May.

The request is the latest move in a US investigation into alleged bribery worth more than $100m (£64m), involving the high-ranking officials at football's governing body.

"The formal requests were received last night at the Federal Office of Justice," the government said in a statement.

The seven officials had been arrested in Zurich on 27 May.

Those suspected of paying the bribes were allegedly given media, marketing and sponsorship rights for football tournaments in the US and Latin America.

The US is involved because the crimes are alleged to have been agreed and prepared in the USA and the bribes were allegedly sent through the US banking system.

Looks like the Yanks are not messing about.
