We are still waiting for the Train platform that was suppose to serve the liberty stadium......now the council are desperate to sell the liberty itself..<laugh>

I am a car driver who is caught behind these monstrosities on a daily basis. They are far too big for the roads they travel on (Chemical Road being a prime example). They are slow and cause traffic jams.

They park at the roadside and thus block the road, with drivers who try to pass them regularly having near misses with oncoming traffic due to the length of the bus.

Most of our city roads were designed for a horse and cart - not a double-length juggernaut. Good riddance to them!

Designed by morons for morons, yet another exercise in tax payers money wasted on stupid hair brain schemes, I suppose we'll go through another 5 years of putting the road system back? Well I won't be effected as I cannot remember the last time I went to the city centre, I find Trostre and Llanelli for more suitable to my inner city experience..........<ok>

The crazy thing is, that at one point the Council were thinking of clearing a large part of the walking/cycle path along the seafront by Mumbles to get the busses down there. It was only an outraged public opinion that stopped them.

I used to work on the kingsway (2000-2014) and I can't wait of them to go! What a waste of taxpayers money. The most shocking is how inefficient they are, especially when the reason why they where implemented in the first place was for environmental benefits!

I don't think the bendy bus was the cause of the deaths directly but the rushed and poorly planned restructure of the city's roads are the fault. Literally almost every other week there was an accident of some sort (pedestrians or road users) These accidents were mainly caused by preventable causes like, no pedestrian crossing lights near union Street junction and the junction at the bottom of kingsway, its traffic lights where set too far back causing all kinds of problems. (Simple box junction or another set of lights closer to the crossroad would have solved the problem)

I know from day one myself and other people who worked in the city centre raised these issues with councillors and it falling on deaf ears every time. I know if anyone in the private sector made these kind of **** ups they would have lost their job. This is one thing that I can't stand about our council is that none seems to be accountable for anything!

    Rant over

The roads in morriston center are too narrow these days and should be made one way in and another way out....

The problem is that they took all the pull in bus stops away, and extended the pavements so they are wider than the road at times. The bendy bus is a nightmare on there as they block the street when they stop . A one way system was tried there and traders were up in arms because their take went down.

That was tried about ten years ago ,the idea cost a lot of money and was soon reverted back as costing an already declining shopping area an awful lot of trade

Morriston needs a good make over, They would be better demolishing the main street and the church in the middle of the road and redevelop it from scratch. The place looks dead scruffy as it is and not right for the amount of traffic that pass through it....
