Unlike many clubs, we don't say anything until the last i is dotted....we won't pull out now as Clyne won't sign for us anyway.
Why do people say "back-up"??? If we sign a player then he us the chance to prove he is first choice.
I'm just hoping that one person will have read this thread and thought "hey, it's only one 'o'. Well I never...." I'm over Clyne already, whilst being amused at putting Rodgers name in the same sentence as Mourinho or Ferguson. They're not even in the same ability postcode.
I hear that 'meh' has now been added to the OED.....which is great because that's exactly how I feel about Clyne moving on. He had a chance to be part of Saints for a while longer, he is likely to go to Liverpool instead. For more money obviously, but that's the only reason I can see so, Meh, I don't give a **** really what he does. I was hoping his foot fell off 10 minutes after he left but I've got over that now.
I find that meh does fit nicely, so I occasionally use it myself. Incidentally, I looked up your signature just the other day and got quite buried in Watchmen stuff. The other month I asked people if the film was any good and most people said meh, so I haven't pursued it, but I may do now.
Were his form from the first half of the season to have continued throughout the course of the season, i'd be disappointed. However, he's been pretty lacklustre since the turn of the year - his performances against Leicester and WBA were dreadful. On his day a brilliant right back, but Liverpool seems such a regressive move, and I can't see them challenging for the top 4 anytime soon with players such as Mignolet and Sakho.
I think it's a great film TSS and the graphic novel it comes from is also excellent, but its not everybody's cup of tea. I also like the soundtrack which includes a version of the Dylan classic Desolation Row done by My chemical Romance which blows the socks off the original IMHO. Meh is very useful, I must admit as it says all you need to say in one syllable
Back to incorrect grammar: I hate it when people say Liverpool, when they should say Southampton Reserves.
First time I've really been able to check in and have a read this week. Slightly disappointed and was surprised when I heard they'd taken the £12.5m but Koeman wants it over and done with now and Reed is none too pleased with the whole situation either. We move on, anyway. Managed to get the story to the Daily Mirror (via the agency) before any of the other nationals too... at 10:14am, over an hour before the Times ran the accepted bid story, so I'm counting that as another little notch personally. Even got where Clyne was holidaying in the story. Haven't been on much due to work this week which has me working 08:00 - 20:00 this week but have glanced in here and there and glad to see everyone keeping their **** together this summer.
P.S. I've picked up new followers on Twitter in the form of a SFC secretary, the head of media (on his private account), the first team analyst and one of the recruitment folk, by the looks of things. They're onto me.
Just been on the Liverhampton site, to say a few are not pleased with the Clyne signing, would be an under statement. Couple of bad games and he'll end up as another Lovren, and they'll be on his back. They don't feel he is the type of player to take them to the Champions League. Shame
