Sorry beefy, this lad in my opinion is the "real deal". Played under 18's at 13 and although only playing something like 25 games last season, looked like an extremely accomplished player.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I will not of heard of any the players we are linked with. Don't really care I'm just happy we are signing players - it's certainly a lot better than last summer! Trust the black box (and Les/Ronald) :emoticon-0103-cool:

Or Liverpool are taking advantage of the fact that city need English players and are making city pay over the odds for a player who thinks he is better then he actually is. In fact as an outsider looking in, I don't see a lot of difference in the Clyne / Sterling deal. The Liverpool supporters aren't fussed whether he goes in the same way as you appear not to be fussed if Clyne goes, as long as the monies right.

That's a different conversation though. In my opinion still a great young player that has the ability to go all the way. Whether this will happen at Liverpool is anybody's guess.

Remember we were linked to Firmino last summer and I watched some of his games since and looks a talent.

Depends if he can adapt to the English game etc, but I'm jealous of that one.

Everyone seems to rate him, apart from the Champions League clubs looking for players in his position who decided he wasn't worth it. Odd one. Lots of German football writers saying he's not there yet and may find England difficult. We'll see, but he's certainly the kind of signing they need this summer.

Sterling will disappear into obscurity. The same way I predicted Rooney would!

Echo article saying that Saints are standing firm on their valuation of Clyne at 15 million as it is a price already suppressed by his contract situation. Clyne apparently has not formally turned down our contract offer, though I bet he is just keeping all options open. He may turn it down in order to push through any deal he fancies (when he returns from his hols). Nat chose us (above bigger clubs) as we were seen to be the club to suit his career development, so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised or hurt if we don't feature in the next stage of his plans. I just cannot see him extending his contract here unless no decent offer appears.

P.s. Sterling is not truly worth 50 million....this is just a case of preventing another club having him. More money than sense. I will salute any club that manages to improve him above what he is now.

He's young so improvement should be a given barring injury. But £50 mil, that's just insane. And would taint the rest of his career, because whatever success he goes on to be involved in will be viewed through the prism of that obscene sum of money.

Osvaldo's loan ends next week and we are back in training shortly after. I wonder if he'll be invited to train, even if it's with the U21? His value diminishes even further if he doesn't but personally wouldn't want him near the squad. Kind of feel it needs to be resolved one way or another this summer though.
