Wijnaldum is a box-to-box midfielder nowadays mate. Memphis Depay took control of the left at PSV and that forced Cocu to play Wijnaldum in a different role, one Louis Van Gaal had him in at the world cup, the box-to-box role. He completely excelled last season, in that position and didn't get the credit he deserved, with Depay hogging the limelight.
The Echo are reporting that we're NOT interesred in Wijnaldum - but those up the road are. Just shows that no one has a clue who we are/aren't in for.
Think about it mate, the only teams who declare who they're after before the pursuit is Liverpool and whoever Harry Redknapp is in charge of, which explains why nobody has a clue what's going on as Redknapp is unemployed.
